It's a tie between the Paladin and the Sorcerer for me.

Sorcerer is an amazing class to play up until Hell at which moment it becomes more of a nuisance due to all the Immunes out there (Still, my level 83 Meteorb Sorc is currently getting the job done, even at Players 4 modification. The Paladin on the other hand (almost every build) is a beast to play at any difficulty and any players X modification, especially with the right gear.

I did a Summoner necro run for a while recently, levelled it up all the way to 90 (and made a MF version of him for intensive farming). While it's fun, it takes an awful amount of time to kill things on Hell at Players 4 - 8, even if your skellies do a lot of damage (at 38 Skeleton Mastery and 35 Raise Skeletons and each one doing an overall of 1K damage when the Mercenary's Might aura was in effect). The reedeming factor for the Necro is Corpse Explosion, which basically can take down entire mobs in seconds, at the expense of corpses for your army. 

As for Diablo III, I'll just say this: Witch Doctor all the way!

Well, I have been playing Diablo constantly since the original came out, so that's a lot of years of experience, ladder runs and different builds behind me, and recently all this talk of Diablo III got me back into DII. The 1.13c patch also added a lot of good changes and balances that should have been there sooner.

Witch Doctor for me is going to be Zombie Dogs and Haunt/Insect Swarm combos. Since skills on DIII are heavily dependent on gear, especially the ones that deal physical damage over time, builds will be much more dynamic this time around. But yeah, the exploding frogs seems to be a pretty good alternative as well xD.

I don't think they'll be adding the Paladin anytime soon, mostly because the Monk took a lot of the useful things of the paladins (like the Mantras being substitutes for the auras), but they could be adding a knight character, such as the knights from the order of the gauntlet (from which the original Warrior class was part of), since that fits into the whole King Leoric lore.

Are you going with only skeletons for your build? I did, and ended up with 12 Warriors and 12 mages (and 1 Clay Golem too, I never used other golem, since the Clay one has a Slow enemy attacks modifier)
