Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Xbox 720 Devkit Specs Detailed, Includes 16-Core Processor

No fucking way...

How are they going to sell a 16-core console for less than $499? Anything more and no one will buy it except the extreme tech-junkie enthusiast.

I just don't see it happening. Plus, there are so many devs nowadays complaining that costs are too high already with current-gen hardware. How in the world are those devs going to be able to afford the costs of next-gen?

What if MS went with there next system a beast system at $399 offset the lost with a 99$ 360 for the first few years?

16 cores my ass... That'd be back to a $600+ machine selling with hundreds of dollars in loss.

.... again... I can't wait for E3. Put all this crap to an end.

I think everyone who plans on buying the Nextbox should start to stash some dough now. A year and a half of saving, even in small increments, should be long enough to help ease the pain. Who the hell knows about all of this speculation but my advice is sound either way.

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

These are the machines they'll be using to develop next-gen Xbox games, so it's not surprising to see that they have much more power than the actual console.

but can it run crysis?

Welcome to next gen where even shovelware costs 150 million$ to make....

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)
