My only issue with the episode is that the Season 3 opener was all about how Spike was not useless. Re-learning morals always rubs me the wrong way.

It was a good episode otherwise. I'm curious about the shop that Spike got the comic from. Sounds like a Zecora rhyme.

I think it was mostly about it being "random" and not going anywhere with the characters, story etc.

Same with Lesson Zero when that happened.

Eh. I guess I can understand that, but it was so fun!

@Mr Khan; I didn't really expect to see the shop. I figure if anything is to happen, it'll be related to the comic vanishing at the end of the episode.

Vampire Fluttershy

The premise was super-weird, but the execution was pretty good. A much more solid moral than the last episode (and multiple morals, neither forced), Fluttershy-Applejack interaction which is surprisingly rare, and more weird magic.

Granted, the obvious solution would have been simply to wait for sunrise and reverse the spell then, but it would have been boring so I'll overlook it.

Winter Wrap Up = Fruit Bat Roundup? Okay, Pinkie. Also, Dash = raging alcoholic confirmed!

The song was kinda catchy. Reminded me a bit of Find a Pet and the Flim Flam Brothers songs. Unfortunately, not as good. I can't say that any song so far has really been on the same level as previous seasons for me. That should change when the episode with Apples to the Core airs.

I agree with Mr Khan; the morals were well done in this episode (although things aren't always so clear cut between the better option). However, it was kind of another Fluttershy learns to be more assertive lesson.

Also, it was nice to have an episode that was pretty well paced and fun. But the most important question; what are they going to do with vampire Fluttershy? And is it just me, or do they seem to be doing these little cliffhangers more often this season?

This song made me relisten to Winter Wrap Up. I'd forgotten how much I like that song.

An okay episode this week.

Biggest problem? How could Rarity forget about the entire reason she was there, because she was singing a song?! It wasn't even that great of a song. It was okay, but the reprise was much better... And my other big problem was that they once again had all of the gang there. Why? What purpose did it really serve to have them all there again? I'm kind of sick of seeing these episodes where we see all of these characters that do absolutely nothing, yet are given a ton of screentime. It feels so meaningless and distracting.

But the premise was pretty good. Having Rarity screw herself over with her generosity was a good idea. As was the resolution, which didn't feel forced or random at all.

So, about those keys...

A decent episode , nothing too bad or too good, just average.

We are 8 episodes in and no mention of any keys? Im starting think that they will find all 6 keys in the last 2 episodes : . Heres hoping to get something key related soon.

Missed it this week (and likely in subsequent weeks) as the place i just moved to doesn't have cable. I'll have to set aside time to catch up on the season at some point, probably after it's over.
