The current dev kits are a little more powerful than the ones shipped last year, so the Wii U might be able to handle at least a stripped-down version of UE4. No matter what, though, it will be capable of some gorgeous-looking games. If I understand correctly, the Samaritan demo was a high-end UE3, and most of what I read suggests it will be able to run that. What I'm still most interested in is how these pretty games will use the controller.

How in THE FUCK would you know that it can barely handle that?

UE4 is already confirmed on Wii U based on water meets fish. (google it)

Water meet fish is apparently UE3, not UE4.  Yes, I did google it and found this:

http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/14/water-meet-fish-epic-games-mark-rein-on-wii-u-ps-vita-and/

"I can tell you that I got to see it at E3 and it was what I expected of course. We were very excited to play some of their demos, see how good the feel of the hardware was -- it's a very impressive system and I think it's gonna do quite well," he told us. When asked about the possibility of UE3 on Wii U, as indicated by two UE3-based games in Nintendo's own sizzle reel, Rein referred us to our conversation at GDC.

He summarized it by saying, "'If Nintendo made a system that could run our engine, we'd be on it like water on fish.' And so when someone asked me what I thought about the Wii U, I said, 'Water, meet fish.'" Seems pretty direct if you ask us!

ahhhhh. I was thinking that was Unreal Engine in a general sense. My bad then lol. But I still think its guranteed UE4 will be on Wii U. It has UE3 based on that comment and I'm sure it will have the power needed to run #4. Just see my comparison thread.

It will have the power to run it. In fact, that's not even the relevant question to ask regarding it. It is whether it will have the shader technology to support it.

That is where the real question comes in. Though I suspect the answer is still yes.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

I went to the other link and apparently the 3DS doesn't have power to run the UE3 engine.  So, the context came up to the Wii U and its power.  As far as being able to run the UE4 engine, I say it is best to wait and see.  Nintendo isn't about the most horsepower.  Nintendo is about sufficient horsepower to have fun doing things not done before.

Anyhow, your being off does happen.  Read something not quite right, then stick in your mind, and you end you presuming things.  It happens.
