Here's a thought.

You know Tali's recruitment mission in ME2? How there's a geth colossus at the end and he's really tough?

Anybody ever played Vanguard, Charged him, and tried to kill him from point-blank?

Let me tell you, that's one of gaming's better thrills.

Haven't tried Vanguard yet, but I did solo him as an Adept on Insanity at close range (mostly because I couldn't be arsed to revive the two buffons who fall like leaves whenever they see Geth on Insanity >_>).

It was....fun

Vanguard close range for the Geth Colossus and close range for any other class are different animals.

Some swear that the geth colossus turning its machinegun on you or not depends on the instant you attack - it needs to be specifically while it's actively firing its big blue weapon, apparently. I can't get it to keep firing those reliably, but after a few deaths I can usually get it to stick.

It is very, very, very fun.

Lost ME2 insane playthrough, will have to casual rush ME2 before Friday, have two courseworks due in.

I'll set my priorities straight, booting up ME2 on Thursday.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

How the ef did a single Geth not spawn from the right side of the Colossus, when usually that area is a perma-spawn until you kill the Colossus? o.O

Does charging the colossus head on disables that spawn point? Because I had to constantly Singularity the ass out of the Geth to get a good opportunity window.

Of the three times I've killed that thing that way on Insanity (I've done this more than I thought), I only had one instance where geth actively spawned and lived to follow me. It's possible that they spawned otherwise and my teammates had time to kill them, but I don't know.

But yes, you deactivate spawn points by crossing certain parts of the map. Get to the colossus and nothing that hasn't already spawned will spawn anymore. Or maybe you bypass the spawn points altogether? I don't know. Point is: nothing spawns. It's just you and him.

Probably my problem lies in the fact that I always take the same path up to the Colossus, the right sniper perch. Might have to try a different approach to see if I can deactivate that spawning point.

You know what I really appreciate about ME3, which I didn't even notice until this ME2 run?

CHARGE ALWAYS WORKS LIKE IT'S SUPPOSED TO RAAAAAAAAGH

I think the geth stop spawning after you get past a certain point, could be wrong though. I did that bit on a soldier, and found it annoying as fuck.

Oh right yeah I recruited Tali earlier, and I definitely got the Colossus to cycle only through his energy blast attack with about 50% reliability. It was good times.

You need to do it fast, though, as in the first time he tries to fire that shot, or geth will spawn behind him and you will be boned.

Commercial looked cool. If I get this, it'll be on PC.

e=mc^2

Gaming on: PS4 Pro, Switch, SNES Mini, Wii U, PC (i5-7400, GTX 1060)

SO, the launch trailer.

Gotta admit: pretty excited.
