Vanguard close range for the Geth Colossus and close range for any other class are different animals.

Some swear that the geth colossus turning its machinegun on you or not depends on the instant you attack - it needs to be specifically while it's actively firing its big blue weapon, apparently. I can't get it to keep firing those reliably, but after a few deaths I can usually get it to stick.

It is very, very, very fun.

How the ef did a single Geth not spawn from the right side of the Colossus, when usually that area is a perma-spawn until you kill the Colossus? o.O

Does charging the colossus head on disables that spawn point? Because I had to constantly Singularity the ass out of the Geth to get a good opportunity window.

Of the three times I've killed that thing that way on Insanity (I've done this more than I thought), I only had one instance where geth actively spawned and lived to follow me. It's possible that they spawned otherwise and my teammates had time to kill them, but I don't know.

But yes, you deactivate spawn points by crossing certain parts of the map. Get to the colossus and nothing that hasn't already spawned will spawn anymore. Or maybe you bypass the spawn points altogether? I don't know. Point is: nothing spawns. It's just you and him.

Probably my problem lies in the fact that I always take the same path up to the Colossus, the right sniper perch. Might have to try a different approach to see if I can deactivate that spawning point.
