Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony Europe prove once again they are incompetent.

Dumb pricing is dumb. I guess it won't take too long before they realize it, though. Anyhow, they could just state those ones as list prices and discount them too since the beginning.

I have yet to see ANY digital game that is cheaper than the retail one. Including Steam (though I know the deals from outside Europe are better most of the time)

I believe both the Sly Collection and ICO collection were cheaper on PSN (£20) then you could get them at retail at the time :P.

Remember loads of people on the ps blog making what a big deal it was that that had finally happened :P

Couldn't you just buy from the cheaper retail prices then? Some of those prices are fairly good.

I think Sony want to play nice with retailers at launch to make sure they push the system. They might be afraid that a bad relation with them will make some retailers wanna bury the system cause they could think they wont sell games anyway.

Let us not forget that a $60 US PS3 game costs £40 in UK, yet a $40 VIta game in US costs £40 in UK also.

If you want to say something negative, do it at least with some consistency. Not even one of all the games you list is anywhere near 40 quid.......

Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't majority of the games listed in the OP around $40 US. (Assuming £25 = ~$40) The £20 titles should be around $30. Then factor in that these prices include tax while the US prices do not.

Doesn't seem to unfair to me. Only part that is BS for you guys are the PSN prices. With retail however, using Rayman Origins for example, you pay ~$38 while we pay $40 plus 8.625% tax (I live in New York). So for Rayman I would pay ~$43-$44.

Nothing against anyone in EU, but I am so tired of this argument about unfair prices. In the US RRP is what I have to pay, so if Sony says $40 for a game, I pay $40. In EU from what I have seen, if Sony says £40 for a game, you pay £25.

Zavvi even had Blazblue for 20 pounds yesterday. I just missed out before they put it back up to 30 again.

This happens all the time though with digital distribution, complaining about this would be like complaining about Steams prices for new launch titles. I end up buying CD keys or even retail copies that are half the price steam has them at launch. I even end up purchasing games cheaper than steam has them during their popular sales periods during those sales periods. We're quite a while away before digital distribution is viable enough to replace physical media.

39.99 for Uncharted? what the hell is wrong with them? WHY would i buy it off PSN for that price when i can get it at ANY retailer for the same price or more likely less! it should be £29.99 on PSN at most.

pathetic

That's just in the UK, not the whole of Europe; and currency exchange rates have worsened for Euro nations again, so the days when importing games from the UK was cheaper than buying locally seem to be over.

I know that for some other nations it is worse, but look at where the OP is from. I am just saying that things aren't as bad as he makes it seem.
