"I wanted to chime in here. We are very happy with the sales and hitting #1 on Steam at launch was nothing short of amazing. We recouped our development and marketing expenses during the first 48 hours. And yes, we're certainly very excited about PC."
Cool, I should really download my copy, but I have been captivated by Crusader Kings II

oh, the PC sales... ok
“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Trick is to cockblock PC gamers long enough, then develop it for the PC after a while, makes us appreciate it more. Where's that Dark Souls and Red Dead Redemption port guys?

Given the fact that Alan Wake wasn't the most expensive game in the world to create & it's cleared 1M copies (not including DLC purchases and DD purchases of the game) that's not very suprising.
But that's a good thing, I'm glad this game worked out for them in the end (on both platforms)!

I don't think we'll ever truly know either way. I think they were expecting more than 1m though, perhaps with digital it's met their expecatations.
