Well, looks like immature people couldn't really stand this thread because Wii was actually winning. When a thread is done to make "x" point (This case, 5 million sellers) the least you could do is respect it.

You know what? We should make a 500k comparison.

I vote for a thread with Super-Duper-Mega-Hits: Games which have sold 20 million or more.

No idea what PSN numbers are.

Super Meat Boy did 1m on XBLA as well.

If you don't know the numbers, then don't make statements about how well PSN does. Only makes it look like you dislike Nintendo even more than Sony.

Well that wouldn't worry me. Still, they don't have to do 1m on PSn (or XBLA) to be consider a success, this is online we're talking about, they don't see like retail games. It's not hard to imagin both having a fair few platformers over 500k.

Immature? I'd say it would be immature to call people out for calling out the OP which suggests 5 mill sellers somehow determines how diverse a consoles library is.

It doesn't matter, neither does 5 million, only 1 million seems to count for some reason.

The OP  is wrong to say that, I agree. But it's not a okay to take over the thread that was meant to be about 5 million sellers just because it's not the "norm".

It gives a much better representation than 5m, by all means do a 500k comparison though, I'd be interested to see the results.

If you really want to know how diverse a console's library is, you shouldn't use games that sold positive of a certain number, but just every game that is out there on the system. That's effectively the whole library, so that is the best way to see how diverse a console's library is. =)

Well, it's clear a much larger audience likes more genres on the Wii than the smaller audience.

But on the same note, retail games on the Wii don't need to sell one million copies to be considered a success either. We are trying to look at this without applying double standards, right?

I'm not talking about how much they earn but their reach. Digital has a limit far below what retail is, so 1m on XBLA/PSN is equivlent to say 3m at retail, I dunno that's just a guess, you get the idea though.

My main point is, Wii doesn't have any genre's thriving online that it doesn't have at retail. PSN and XBLA do.

It's perfectly fine, that's the whole point of his thread, to say Wii has a more diverse library than PS360, what are we suppose to just say 'yes it does' That's what you're expecting.

If you agree he's wrong to say that then it's daft you expect people to just come in and agree.
