Yeah but who seriously looks at those sites anyway let alone is effected by them being down for a few hours. It's not really any different to a site being down for maintenance.

I guess. It's still annoying and childish though.

Like I said those big music and movie companies definitely deserve it and more until they stop acting so stupid.

Well I'm sure its been attempted many times already. Whether it be Anonymous or some other people.

The way I look at it, if they're successful than that'll encourage MS to beef up security even further. We know it got Sony off their ass.

They are taking down youtube, xbox live, ect not because they did anything to anon, its becaue it will get the most commercial response. Millions of americans use these things and with them down they will go bonkers over wtf. A normal person won't care if UN or CBS or ect are hacked.

Its like the blackouts that recently happened. Did i notice google put a black banner over their logo? hell no, that was weak. Did i notice when sites like wikipedia were not working and blacked out. hell yes.

Same reason to hack xbox live or youtube. People will notice. People get mad, people contact repesentatives and bitch.

You can find them all easily on the internet already, what's the point?

Well, sony.com alone sees five times the traffic of vgchartz according to alexa. Direct them all to a page where they can easily get all their content for free seems much more of an insult than simply downing their sites for a few hours.

Yes, but they'll get mad at the perpetrator, not at the government, at least in this case
