On my milestone watch list Skyrim needs to pass the following games to be the best selling RPG/Adventure game ever (Skyrim (360+PS3+PC) : 6.83 (/10M)) :
Zelda TP (Wii+GC) : 7.80
Final Fantasy games : 7.86 and 7.95
Myst (PC) : 8.03
FF7 : 9.72
> = Pokemon games, but totally out of reach !

So, if all 10m shippment is sold it will pass FF7 ! ^^

At this early stage and considerring it's the festive period, that's usually an indicator that it's selling ridiculously well. Stores wouldn't be ordering more copies if it hadn't sold well.

I wonder what the digital sales are like if it's the fastest selling Steam game ever.

Quite amazing Skyrim is selling so much.

I think it has broken into the mainstream like the old FF games like FFX and 7.

I am going to get but not until the PS3 problem are fixed.

Hum... my brother finished Skyrim on PS3 in 3 weeks playing it 12 hours a day = 250 hours. The game slowded down a lot at times but overall no big issues, maybe if you don't download patches (cut your internet connexion with PS3 or don"t accept updates), you'll be fine !
