I could have sworn I put my prediction in that thread but I couldn't find myself in the OP.

But anyways I think the PS3 will overtake the 360 6 months after the next box is released.

Edit: But to make things simpler for Seece I say Q3 of 2013 (i'm banking that on the 360 releasing between Christmas 2012 and early 2013)

All depends on how long the mainstream will care about kinect.

I personally dont see it happening... I dunno I had faith that it may have a chance but after seeing the Black Friday sales and all, it really doesn't have a chance of outselling the X360 WW

Sony is doing an amazing job in Japan, but that has no chance of rebounding to make a difference.
Europe is strengthening for the PS3, if it can match and/or exceed 360 US/UK sales then it can happen in 2012 (with that meaning Japan does make the difference)

So Japan needs to stay strong for Sony.
Europe needs to exceed 360 numbers.
USA needs to match 360 numbers.

Of course I've also said time and time again that Jack Tretton failed Sony in the Americas. Simple as that. His leadership has been pathetic. Humble guy, but can't lead.

Uncharted 3 should have had a bigger advertising campaign. Resistance 3 also should have had a bigger campaign that focused on the game and not the Move controller.

Plus brand new special edition PS3's should be coming over here. Final Fantasy XIII PS3, Ni No Kuni PS3, Snow White PS3, Blue and Red PS3's. You look at 360 and Wii, they have each had multiple colors come out over here. PS3? Nothing, just the standard plain charcoal black color.

I'm not sure anymore. I do think the PS3 will continye selling longer in the developing / 2nd world countries while the 360 dies off pretty quickly after the 720 releases. MS tends to abandon things faster than Sony

Pretty much this. PS3 makes considerable gains most of the year but the xbox pulls most of it back in the holidays - I still think ps3 will get more sales this year but the difference wont be huge. The difference I think will be after next gen releases. Sony tends to support older tech better and with prices for xbox/ps3 both coming down once nextgen launches, ps3 sales will due considerably better due to the better value it represents in hardware, even if only becos of the blueray. Point is, ps3 WILL overtake xbox. But by the time it does, it wont really matter anymore and noone will care.  

well x360 and ps3 sales seem to be equalling out now, so im guessing at this rate it probably won't happen, it's a shame really because sony really have been pulling out alot for the ps3...

PS3 ALREADY HAS overtaken the 360 in active units.

The only reason the 360 "leads" is because of the red ring of death.

A year ago, the PS3 OFFICIALLY passed it in active units.
