The OP is not fake. The topic with FFXIII-2 opinions has been deleted off 2Chan due to spoilers being posted.

Also, the thread about the 31/40 was also not fake. There was a thread about it on 2Chan but the guy was trolling and it wasn't the real score.

No such threads were made on 2chan I guarantee you, I checked and Japanese speaking posters checked. As both of those threads reached their way to neogaf and they did detective work. You see both the Fake Famitsu and fake impressions news reached neogaf and they are good at doing thorough checks.

If FFXIII-2 had been leaked to gamers you would have had youtube opening videos by now, as far as I know only select members of the press (like The Official Playstation Magazine person) have the game.

The 31/40 thread was made on 2Chan as I saw it with my own eyes. Somebody on NeoGAF also saw it and posted it on the FFXIII-2 OT thread. However, it was a fake score and the person who made the thread on 2Chan was trolling.

NeoGAF don't get everything first, espcially if they miss out on a thread on 2Chan. The details I've posted in my OP are my summary of  a thread I saw on 2Chan that's now been deleted. If NeoGAF missed it the that's their problem. However, I saw this thread on 2Chan with my own eyes.

So far the only non-famitsu reviews we have are Dengeki who gave it an S, but they are not to be trusted either. Then we have impressions from the editor of Playstation The Official Magazine who said the game improves over XIII in 3 big ways (linearity, more fleshed out characters and a story that makes sense) and in general he was praising the game a lot.

Even if what the PTOM editor is saying is true I will still remain skeptical till I have played the game for myself, I feel the press tends to overrate Final Fantasy because they have a soft spot for it. Or better we should see what Edge thinks, they gave FFXIII a 4 so I can trust them.

I'd say it's best to wait for player reviews of FFXIII-2 rather than professional reviews. There's no corruption with player reviews, IMO. Also, Edge magazine gave the first FFXIII a 5/10. I'm predicting a 7/10 or 8/10 for the sequel.

Was it darthdevidem01 that posted on 2chan then? From what I spoke to 2chan people they said a poster was posting fake FFXIII-2 threads for a few days, there was another FFXIII-2 spoiler thread I saw which said something like Serah is Lightnings mother...anything FFXIII-2 story related seems to be locked as it may be spoilers.

But anyway the fact of the matter is no-one apart from press has the game, if they did you would have seen youtube leaks. Lets wait and see the Amazon user reviews.

The amazon user reviews from Japan are very reliable, they warned us of FFX-2 sucking, they warned us of FFXII sucking and they warned us of FFXIII sucking; and they also told us Xenoblade was definetely the greatest JRPG this generation. I trust them.

Edge is my favorite reviewer, I will trust them. And Edge gave FFXIII a 4/10, I predict a 6/10 from them, they can see through graphics to see what a game truly is.

I really agree with you about Amazon. That place really is a good indication of what the Japanese public think about a game.

Surprised he didnt mention anything about healing hp automatically after a battle and lack of MP. I find that to be a complete game changer on XIII compared to the other games in the series. SE is trying to differentiate XIII from the other games and their trying too hard imo.

Fanboy trolling is never going to affect sales.  If the general public cared about what fanboy or the internet gaming community thought, then you would think Modern Warfare 3 wouldn't sell a lot.  Despite pretty much pan-negative internet buzz and trolling, sale of MW3 is unaffected AND despite all the negativity, MW3 is on pace to outsell Black Ops and be the best selling game ever.

Why would the public care about what hardcore gamers feel about Call of Duty?

The game has stunning, realistic graphics and realistic war situations. People need to remember that mainstream gamers are graphics whores rather than love different art styles. Say what you want about Call of Duty, but the game does realistic war gameplay very well. That's how it became popular. The realism in its graphics and war situations and online multiplayer spread via word of mouth amongst the mainstream. The same thing happened with Monster Hunter in Japan.
