I have composite cables, I'm too lazy and broke to buy component cables. :( The Wii U comes out in a year and hopefully I can play Zelda back on it via HDMI.

Lazy and broke... I hear ya. :( Can't even buy my pre-ordered copy of SS. Small issue in world scale tho. If you have an old tv sometimes the experience is almost better on those for weaker consoles (Wii and before).

I don't hate it, I just think its not as good as one of its competitors, other than that...

I hate it because I have to buy a Wii Motion Plus to play Skyward Sword, why can't I just play Skyward Sword without it *bursting in tears*

It has at least the same amount of controls as the HD consoles....... You plug your stuff into the wiimote, unless you are using cube pads.

Don't get me wrong, it works just as well for some games. Hell, for RE4 it worked better.

...But try playing Call of Duty with a Wiimote and tell me it doesn't feel awkward, there are too many inaccessable buttons and a lack of a second analogue stick.

The control scheme is one of the main reasons why you don't see SD ports of big HD games on the PS3 and Xbox 360.

I mainly play FPS on PCs and not consoles, but I'm super good with Conduit controls which feels better than CoD controls on Wii, and the new CoD and Golden Eye on Wii give you the option of dual analog on top of pointer control. I still say no to FPS on consoles in general though, they try to make it not too mouse like when more than one control option is avaliable which usually fucks up the pointer control, it's basically the same story with mouse and dual analog, completely unbalances it if they don't do some kind of assist or make the other not work as well.

BTW, even games like RE controls better on PC, I played RE5 a lot with my brother on PC, even the hardest mode was kinda easy in general with slow ass mobs and mouse aiming, I was able to switch in between targets super fast and not miss anything.

I don't hate it one of my favorite games is SSBB but that 1 game doesn't make me want to go out and purchase one

whats depressing, is that you cant stand critism for your favorite console. For the most part people have been tame and its not like anyone even said they hate the Wii. No one makes the why do you hate Xbox thread, because maybe not much people "hate".  No one is bashing anything, why not tell your fellow Ninty peeps to stop making these threads? Its not like its the HDs that are doing it

Hmm, I think you misunderstood what I was trying to say. You guys need to realize that the Wii is an inanimate object that doesn't respond to hate. I do critisize the Wii for its shortcomings, but no matter how much I critisize it, there's no reason to hate it. And I see where you're coming from too but this thread is more "celebratory" in the sense that people enjoy sharing these ideas of hatred towards the console. It's a shame.

i DID hate the Wii for a short period of time, because i did think as stated above.. technically, the Wii is inferior to those Consoles, but as of today, i think the Wii did so many things right, and i do think it deserves credit for what it has accomplished. (widening the audience for Videogames, introducing Motion Controls..)

If you'd ask me why it simply isnt my Console, its because 3rd Party Games tend to suck,  and Nintendo Games is a type of game i've grown out. I cant stand a Mario anymore, it just feels .. not like the kind of game i tend to play anymore. BUT i am grateful that those games beeing successful, since they are to me like Disney Movies were once - somewhat Magical. many of today's Childen will have an awesome time with those games, and so dwill have Fans of these franchise's.

(And i cant stand to wield my arms for hours.. lets take Zelda as an Example; Why the fuck did i need to wave my arm to strike an Enemy in Twilight Princess?? it didnt matter how i slashed, so it could have been replaced with a push of a button.. Skyward Sword on the other hand is one of the very few games that utilize the mechanics favourable. but sooo few games do, but still force you to move without reason.)



I'm a Foreigner, and as such, i am grateful for everyone pointing out any mistakes in my english posted above - only this way i'll be able to improve. thank you!
