So how the hell are they going to have the funds to launch both vita and ps4?
I suppose if either of these fail, than Sony might have to leave the console business all together

The day I will leave gaming :(

I've never really understood this line of thinking.

Why would anyone quit gaming just because a company stops making games. You know if Sony somehow dropped out of the console race that there would be another company to take it's place.

It's not like there would be a lack of quality games coming out.

the difference between a PlayStation gamer and everyone else

yes, there seriously would be a Severe lack of quality games

OT: they really need to sort that yen out and soon

Of course not. But look at it this way, many people grew up with Playstation and Nintendo, therefore if one were to go down, there will be some "emotional" issues. Look at Sega.(Every aspect after they left the console business)

Gaming on: PS4 Pro, Switch, SNES Mini, Wii U, PC (i5-7400, GTX 1060)

Not suprising. Sony isn't thinking about the purpose of their games anymore and making them just because they think anybody who played them before is instantly going to buy them. This is why I love Nintendo. They actually spend time on the games they make and a purpose to create them.

Prime example: Zelda Skyward Sword. Took 5 years to make and is now kicking ass.

Of course, Sony's stock can be at its lowest point in over two decades and it's not big news, but when it happens to Nintendo...

But Sony is not just a video game company. We really don't care how Sony electronics are selling. We only care about the gaming side of things.

Bullshit. If anything Sony has the best quality and most diverse line-up of games out of the big 3.

Heavy Rain, Uncharted, Infamous, Killzone, Resistance, LittleBigPlanet...etc

I think the problem here is that they have TOO MANY NEW IPs. Nintendo relies on Zelda/Mario to sell their consoles/portables. Sony doesn't have that killer app.

Sounds great, keep it up Sony.

I am entitled to my opinion.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

the difference between someone who cares about a console more than the games and someone who is a true gamer who goes wherever the games are and doesn't bother so much with console wars BS.

No really there wouldn't be because there would be another console maker with all new games to take it's place and many of the games from the Playstation consoles would most likely find their way to the remaining consoles on the market.

I fixed the bolded for you to make it more accurate

Huh?? Microsoft are sitting firm and pretty, over $23b profit a year and even the gaming division is pulling its weight now, I'm not saying MS won't be impacted by world issues but stop lumping them in with Sony and Nintendo, Microsoft isn't a japanese company.

Regardless, you tell me if this is confidence in the future of Microsoft. http://money.cnn.com/2011/11/14/technology/microsoft_ibm_stock/

We all talk about download exclusive consoles and cloud gaming, but its cloud software thats gonna do the damage, and investors know it.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
