If you rented or bought the Orange Box for the console and disliked it, it's because it's meant for PC, and I'm not kidding. |
PC gamings is over-rated. Everyone says its so much easier but i think its just people who are used to PC gaming. I on the other hand have been Console gaming for probably 11 years now and I'm used to it, so in my opinion Console gaming is better. But some people have probably played PC games there whole lives and like it better. Thats your opinion, my opinion is console gaming is more fun and easier to control. |
It is actually proveable that PC gaming is better over consoles and is not just an opinion but a fact. The only thing console's beat PC at is simplicity, they used to beat it price wise to but if you get a console + an HD TV now it usually costs the same if not more than a PC, with the exception of the Wii.
A mouse has a much higher accuracy over an analogue stick, and unlike an analogue stick which can only move so far in one direction a mouse can move as far as you can possibly move it on your playing surface.
Also if you were to change from looking left to right on an anlogue stick or up and down or any other opposite direction change the analogue stick first has to travel to the center which that entire time you will still be moving in the previous direction just slowing down and then you have to accelerate to the direction you are now trying to go and then meeting the maximum speed the analogue stick and sensitivity you have allows. A mouse however has no native point and you will start turning immediately once a direction change is made.
The keyboard also includes over 100 buttons in much closer proximity to each other per square inch than on a console making control a lot better.
And your "High Definition" TV's are ages behind computer monitors which go all the way up to 3840x2400 resolution. Not only that but we never have to do split screen which drops your resolution even further when you do.
Also we don't have to pay for XBox Live or any other service other than our basic internet fees.
Another advantage is price:
PS3/360 games=$60
PC games=$50
Our games also go on sale much quicker and drop in price down to $20 usually after a year because the PC market is being taken over by online downloads through Steam or Direct2Drive and other services so stores can't sell them for to high of a price anymore. So we get a better version of the game for a lower price and more user created content.
I've been PC gaming since I was 4 years old and I certainly plan to stick to it. I've converted most of my gaming friends to the PC gaming side, even some of them becoming more hardcore into it than me.
Oh and I guess I might as well list some advantages consoles have just so I don't get flamed
For one thing they are much simpler and don't require as much maintanence. I have to reinstall the drivers on my computer tomorrow because something got screwed up and some games won't run now and its really frustrating.
Another thing is no upgrades are ever required, your console will work for you until the generation is up and even then you can still get some fun out of it through the next generation and beyond.
And with consoles you just have to put the disk in to play and no installation or other things required. I've had to buy three new hard drives for my 4 desktops that I have in the past year just because of space issues.
But anyways in conclusion, PC gaming is better than Console gaming when it comes to playing the games but it is usually more expensive and complicated.
