My guess would be is the fact that it comes out every year, but nowhere as many people sink anywhere as much time into the online component as they do with COD, so it has considerably less replayability, therefore people will most likely wait to pick it up in bargain bins or later on during Christmas for considerably lower price. In UK AC franchise really has a hard time keeping the price up - 2/3 weeks after release it already lost about 30% of it's release price last year, not sure if it's same in US, but I think it's the same.

BF3 preorder numbers seem awfully high tbh, don't get me wrong, I have preordered my copy too, but it just seems a bit high. Maybe those ridiculous propaganda trailers against COD are taking effect(Which I personally find distatestful and just petty)

Looks like MW3 will be most pre ordered COD game. Not much of a surprise.

Wouldnt you say that the whole concept of "front loaded" implies a stagnant user base? Where a game has a dedicated user base?

I think Uncharted has garnered a dedicated user base, and in that case it would probably appear to be front loaded but i feel uncharted is not at the levels of games like gears, halo, cod in sales. So i see the franchise as having more room to grow and in that case i dont think it will be front loaded.

I guess we could only judge that on how the sales holds up.

Thats my understanding of front loaded, so i think its too early to be saying its front loaded. But yeah maybe i got the whole front loaded thing wrong?
