Project Draco was recently announced to be pushed back to 2012 and exclusively coming to XBLA. Since then 1up had a nice interview with the developers and surfaced quite a lot of info on this game. I took out the highlights and listed them below, just for your convenience. Controls Since this is a Kinect exclusive title, let’s start with explaining the controls. For those that played Child of Eden the controls will be very familiar, since they are virtually the same. The means you can probably use your hand to swipe over targets to lock on to them, and flick your hand forward to take them all out in one big attack. When it comes to movement the game is different from Child of Eden: Project Draco will allow you to shift your body weight to move the dragon around the screen, probably to dodge obstacles. This might add a whole new dimension to the game, where you will be frantically trying to dodge objects while taking out hordes of enemies that are coming after you! Could be very cool! The game will be 100% Kinect only too, so no controller option like in Child of Eden. Gameplay The gameplay will most likely be very similar to Panzer Dragoon but with a virtual pet element added. The interview reveals that you will be able to ‘adopt’ different dragons, customize them and level them up to give them upgrades! If the dragon is as customizable as in Special Pets this could turn out to be an extremely cool part of the game, especially if you take your dragon online and show it off to all your friends. A video of Panzer Draggon Orta is posted below, this might give an impression on how the gameplay of Project Draco will be. Multiplayer Project Draco will feature co-op multiplayer: three players can team up online to play the game. It’s not yet clear whether this will be the campaign or some arcade mode. It’s also not clear if there will be local co-op in the game.
