They should release in Japan, but I feel that they'd have more success there if they didn't call their next console Xbox.

They should and would, but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the new Box sold less LTD than the the 360.

Let's not forget folks, PS2 is selling on par with 360 over there. What makes you think the PS3 won't sell like that when the new Box comes out?

yes it would be noticeably smaller. without japan there lead wouldn't be as meaningful as it is to some. some people would be like "whts a 2m/0.002k lead cause 3.wht ever looks so much better!

MS will have to

the main purpose is to unsettle SONY out there.

as long as SONY is solid in JAPAN they will continue to produce consoles elsewhere which will effect MS.

Dang, I forgot how abyssmal their first year was over there. A third of their first year was the launch week. Makes the 2008-2009 period where they were averaging around 9k-10k per week seem extraordinary by comparison.

Smartest post yet. But we dont know if those 1.5 million Xbox 360 owners don't own a PS3. I mean if only the most hardcore Japanese gamers bought the 360 for its exclusives wouldn't they also have a PS3?
