Forums - Website Topics - Add an "LOL" button to the forums... similar to FB's like or Google's +1

Do you like this idea

Its quite simple. Add a button below each forum post labelled "LOL" or "Lulz".

It would work just like the like button or the plus one, etc.

It won't affect the way the page shows or works, other than displaying the number of LOLs the post received.

It will remove reduntant quotes where people just wanted to say it was an awesome post and it could then be put into badges and other awards.

I like the idea in the sense of that I would get the most "LOLs" for funny and serious posts alike, but if I consider what effects it could have on the forums as a whole, then it's a really, really bad idea.

Actually, I can see an idea as silly as this giving the site some notoriety as dumb as that sounds.  I could be interesting, but maybe that added attention is the bad you speak of lol.

No, really, as a Facebook freak as I am, I'd love this idea.

In all seriousness, why is it a "really, really bad idea"?

I think its a good way to remove various clutter as well as have a new unique feature not found anywhere else.

It's an alright idea, I could have just clicked the lulz button instead. In other words I see your point.
