No it's to compare the sales of Sony/MS published games in the exact same perameters

It's not the exact same parameters though. You're excluding software sold during the same period. Thus not the same. Fact.

On both sides, no game published by Sony is included despite them selling games during the same period

This thread is PS3 vs 360 (as I see no PSP, PS2 in the OP) so there is no PS3 to exclude. You're including MGS4 sales in 2011, but not Gears of War or Viva Pinata in 2011. Thus you're excluding SW in the same timeframe and it isn't the sama parameter.

The other guy got this right, you're cherrypicking.

Why should I keep one perameter but lose another and give MS a year extra worth of games?

Ok we're going round in circles now. Let me lay it out for you.

To determine who has sold the most first party software since the Playstations 3's release in Nov 2006, you need to count ALL Software, ALL Software, sold from THAT point on. Not a day before, not a day after.

If you refuse to acknowledge that is the only fair way then I'm gonna request this thread be locked because when the OP cherrypicks the data like that they usually are.

Again, the ONLY fair way to work out who has sold the most first party SW since the PS3's release si to include everything from that day forward.

It's pretty damn easy to understand, everyone else here agrees, but the PS3 will lose, hence why you refuse to do it.

I already told you I'm comparing the sales of games released since ps3s released not sales since ps3s released, is it really that hard for you that MS didn't win?

Well they did win, but it wouldn't bother me if they didn't, it'd be a pretty stupid thing to get upset over 0_o I wouldn't fudge the numbers either. Anyway as thranx pointed out, this thread is useless if you're going to manipulate the numbers.

What arnt you getting 0_o, it's not giving MS any extra time at all. You're NOT including that extra years worth of sales, only the sales AFTER the PS3 launched, so they both get 4 years 9 months worth of sales.

My mind is made up, you're definitely doing this so PS3 wins.

No however you look at it I'd be including an extra years worth of games

The PS3 launched two days before the Wii does that mean that every PS3 launch game would be excluded if you were to do the same analysis for PS3 vs Wii?

Like I already stated in hindsight I would of included Gears since it's date is so close, so of course not, but counting a full year extra of games is riddcules

Just to clairify, exactly what is the target of this thread. to find out who has sold the most 1st party SW since the PS3 released?

No it's to compare the sales of Sony/MS published games in the exact same perameters

what do you mean? that sentance doesn't really make sense.

You say I'm excluding software sales by MS during the time frame that is correct what you don't understand is I'm also excluding software sales of  Sony during the time frame, both of them only have games published from the same date counting, I'm not counting software sales of games before that on either side thus it's even

when you made this thread you only had ps3 to 360 comparison not sony to ms. You are not inluding software sold for the 360 during the same time that the ps3 sold software. its clear what you want here, a look at how good sony is thread, and not an actual comparison. that is fine, have your thread, but you should change the op to reflect what you want. your bias is really out in the open now. If you want an actual comparisson thread make one including the info we told you are missing or do a from launch timeline for each console. other wise this thread is really just useless.

Edit: After reading your respones to me and seece and some others in this thread its clear you do not want an actual comparison for discussion. I'm over going in circles with you.

I'm not giving MS an unfair advantage by giving them an extra year of games no matter how much you tantrum

MS/Sony published game sales comparison (since release of ps3)

lets see the requirements here, Must be published by ms or sony, and sold since the release of the ps3. Nothing there saying it must be published after the release, most non biased people would assume you are trying to compare actual sales during a time frame, not trying to weasle 360 games out of the comparison so the ps3 looks better. perhaps you should list all of your rules for this thread so it is more clear what you wnat. Like i said though, that is fine have your thread, just dont expect any meaningful discussion to occur when the terms are clearly biased to fave one company over the other. You have been told byt three or more people 2 different ways you can make it a fair comparison if your not interested in doing that its fine. It just means this will be a sony fan celebrate thread and not one with actual discussion on sales.

than why not take a year off the end of the 360 and do it that way? what would those numbers how? That is also an option that has been brought up in this thread.

I'm not throwing a tantrum, just correcting you, I dunno how many times I have to say it though, you wouldn't be giving MS an extra years worth of games, you're just including sales sold since the PS3 released, but you're sticking your fingers in your ears and singing nanananana

Gears of War (before ps3 released)

Viva Pinata (before ps3 released)

Vampire Rain (not published by MS)

Oh common! Viva Pinata released 2 days before the PS3, and Gears of War only released in the Americas region before the PS3 release. That's not fair. Also Vampire Rain was published by Microsoft for every region except Japan. Count it.

With that 360 has 80.10million sales of games Microsoft published since the release of the PS3.

I assume the rest of your list is correct.

I wonder if Sony can take the lead after this fall. Gears of War and Forza will sell at least 12 million combined. Add 5 million for Halo, and if Witcher 2 is published by MS, another 500k there. Add some Kinect exclusives being published, and blamo. Uncharted 3 will get 5 million sales, maybe more, but Sony doesn't have another other strong selling titles this fall.

Can we do another one at the end of 2011 for sales of games published since the advent of kinect.... just for a laugh?

Yeah but the OP wouldn't include Kinect games as it's just an add on and it isn't fair and within the required 'parameters'
