This really illustrates how young this site really is... and the reason for some of the comments on these boards.

But I digress...

First game ever played: Pac-Man when it was NEW in the arcade (1981)
First game ever owned: Combat on the Atari 2600 (1982)

The OP made me feel old, but this post just made me feel young again. Thank you sir.

OT:

I think it was some Olympics game for the NES. The one where you ran in place on a mat. Either that or Super Mario/Duck Hunt.

No, problem!

I will say that I am happy to have been around at the beginning (though not the birth unfortunately) of a new hobby... as well as the crash and Nintendo renaissance.

And, I believe the game you mean is "World Class Track Meet".  It was boxed along with SMB and DH on a 3 in 1 cartridge sold with the power pad NES.

That was it! I was so in to that game, I accidentally stomped on a cat once. Good times indeed.........

I am the Playstation Avenger.

Donkey Kong on Colecovision at a friend's house. Then Alex Kidd and Super Mario Bros. at another friend's house and that's when I started to beg my parents for my very own NES.

Signature goes here!

1985 : Arkanoid / Bolo on Atari 520 ST

alex kidd (master system)

I think it was Snackman on the Vic20. A rip off of Pacman, obviously.

The Vic20, 5KB of raw power, expandable to 15KB with special cartidges. Awesome memories.

Wow... Tekken when u 4 years old?
I don't even remember first game I played, I was just remember I played mario bros in the fisrt place. But when 5 years old I'm sure before mario I ever played atari games.

I too put many a quarter into the pacman machines when I was younger.  The first game I played on the tv was pong.  The first game system was the Atari 2600 and I think the game was a football game at a cousins house.  Me and my brother and sister convinced my parents that we needed a game system too, and we went to Sears and we found the Intellivision game system.  It was like going from the PS1 to the PS2 when compared to the 2600.  We were the envy of the neighborhood!
