I don't own a Wii because I'm not a preteen boy who still gets off by Mario and Zelda. I'm 19 years old, so I like to play more intense games. You know? Games with better graphics and gameplay that appeals more to me, then collecting coins and jumping on mushrooms, which the Wii cannot offer. I'll buy the Wii when they start getting games that come on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, but that wont happen. Why? Because The Wii isn't next gen.

*In response to brandon's post because I can't find it*

LOL. About almost everybody here is your age, slightly younger, or older. Majority of them are Wii/Nintendo fans, and they all play Mario and Zelda. Plus other adults play Mario and Zelda.

When I'm 19, I will continue to play Mario and Zelda. And how is Zelda "chilidish"? Because it doesn't have blood and gore? It has plenty of stabbing.

And Wii games have better gameplay than PS3/360 games.

And Wii isn't next gen? As far as I'm concerned, the Wii Remote is more technologically advanced than anything the PS3 or 360 offer.

Listen, I have a Wii, I'm getting a PS3, but I'm going to cherish my Wii as equal as the PS3. And even then I'm not buying it for the "mature" games, I'm buying it for the RPGs and such. The only "mature" game I might buy is GoW3. Probably that's it.

P.S. Do you play Kingdom Hearts?

It has nothing to do with gore in the games. It has to do with the story and whats in the game. I do think that you guys are putting me in a stereotype because I don't like the Wii games, which is fine by me, because I know what I'm talking about. I could careless if their bloods and guts. It's always the same answers with the Wii owners. They can't grasp the fact that some people just don't want to play the type of games that come on the Wii system, then they say "Oh, you just like violent games and you don't open up to other type of game styles". Not true. I am buying LittleBigPlant when it comes out and I love Ratchet and Clank.

As for the Wii and online play, I don't see it being that as big of a deal. Well, unless it's Super Smash Brothers, but it's not going to be as big as the Playstation 3's or the Xbox 360. I can't say that the Wii is a next gen system just because of the remote. I think the system as a whole isn't very next gen. Throw in the Playstation 3's hardware and the Wii remote, then your were taking.

The PS3 is nowhere near dead, it is going to have a strong lucrative future, it will be around for another 5 years easy.

If KH3 (whenever it gets released, my guess is 2010) were to go to the Wii, I'd buy a Wii just to play it. (unless of course I already own one) But I would much rather have it on the PS3, as part of the brilliance that is KH was the beauty of the worlds and environments. I feel that the PS3 could really do wonders for that aspect, especially when you consider that by the time it is made, the developers will be a lot more experienced with the console. (since the main KH Dev team is working on FFVsXIII right now)

Also, I don't see how motion sensing could benefit the game. The battles are too hectic and fast paced for the motion sensing to work effectively. I could also see some sore wrists and arms as well. I think the system it will be made for will be determined later on, once they see what install bases are like and how certain games sell on each console

So no hardcore game buys a Wii? Well then, explain this to me;

I own more video game systems than you

I own more video games than you

I've played more video games than you

I've beaten games that are so hard you would weep with joy when you decide to give up

In just about every logical definition of "hardcore" you could come up with I probably full fill more of the requirements than you. Yet I own a Wii. Paradox? Or does someone have a deeply flawed argument?

I'm going to make this my last contribution to the thread because to be honest I've heard this tired discussion many times before.

1) Just think about what you've written here, it's swimming in hypocrisy.

2) You say earlier that you know what you're talking about then question whether the Wii is in the same generation as the 360 & PS3. A gamer who knew what they were talking about knows that generations have nothing to do with specs.

Ok, I'm done.

Carlos, if millions think the console is better than it does not necessarily mean that it does not fail in some places. Personally, I don't like the Wii, mainly because I don't like the motion sensor, and was not impressed at all when I played. I'd seen better graphics on my PS2, and it just felt like a step backwards from my PS3.
Anyway, just because more people bought a Wii, does not mean they all think it is better, they could just be buying it now and waiting for the PS3 price to come down.

Seen better graphics on the Playstation 2? Okay. Yeah. I've seen better graphics on the Nintendo 64. Look at the graphics for Off Road Extreme, on the Wii. They are horrible. Of course some Playstation 2 games have better graphics than some Wii games, but more Wii games have better graphics than more Playstation 2 games. Some Wii games have better graphics than some Xbox 360, and Playstation 3 games. Some Super Nintendo games have better graphics than some Nintendo 64 games. Some Genesis games have better graphics than some Playstation games. Yeah... So? If you compare only games with the best graphics, on different systems, than you will be able to judge the power of the consoles more accurately. Saying that some games on the Playstation 2, have better graphics than some games on the Wii, is extremely weak. And your last sentence is also incorrect.

Name one wii game that has better graphics than a PS3 game... And if you are thinking SMG then be prepared to be laughed at :P

I haven't changed a word of what I've said. I don't want to play the Wii games or own the system. It's not next gen at all and the games will never appeal to me. The end. So, see ya later. Could careless if you reply in this topic or not because you have no important to me anways.

I agree with this post, especially updates. I was playing with remote access today with my psp - ps3. I love that i can turn my ps3 on from my psp via the internet. I hoping I can connect a pseye and watch my house when I go on holidays :P... Dang I might just try that :P

Ps3 is a real revolution. I can't imagine what the ps3 will look like in a few years. The ps3 and psp are not like what you purchased... it has evolved :P

If you couldn't care less about what people think then why the hell did you start this whole argument?

Anyways the PS3 isn't next gen because its hardware comes nowhere close to PC, so quit daydreaming kid.
