PSP, go to "USB connection".

PS3, go to music, photos, videos or save files section and select "PSP" and choose what you want to copy over.

Works vice-versa.

yes content like music can be sent through a usb connection and theres also a function that allows content to be streamed wirelessly from ps3 to psp some games supported this like lair :

What Brendude said. It's really simple. Just connect up the USB and press usb connection. You may have to register your PSP with your PS3 which I believe is in the settings tab. After that, copying stuff over is simple.
