So this Ar no Surge Plus thing has turned into an absolute saga.  It seems like there might be a limited retail release through NISA:

 

They point out that Atelier Shallie also underperformed at retail (on PS3):


But the collector's edition they did through NISA's store performed extremely well:

 

So who knows what's going to happen... if they manage to get it working though and the retail version performs well, for the love of god buy it so we get some retrospective Atelier games at physical or something... otherwise 22GB of my 64GB card is going to be Gust games, lol.

I've never heard of that guy, but he seems to interact quite a bit with fans. Interesting to see his comments.

A NISA limited edition where I'll have to deal with their ridiculous online store prices, the absolutely bonkers shipping fees and the conversion to GBP? Joy of joys!

Though I guess this would be the best outcome at this point. Beggars can't be choosers and all of that.

Not very surprising. Every time I check any EU online shop, only Vita games they have are LEGO games. And I think there are no physical copies of any game in Croatia outside a random bundle every once in a while.


That is another good point, outside of Sony first party retail and a few major third party games like AC and batman, the smaller games that get a retail release never even get shipped to most shops or countries around here. I've never seen a IF game, I always import them from the UK. Haven't seen Toukiden either

I get that not shipping to places where it will not sell much cuts costs but it also cuts exposure and people that don't roam the net or international stores won't even know there's a physical release

Is he talking about the overall sales on both platforms or just the retail editions?


Soul Sacrifice was the last retail game I bought on Vita. I'd like to support these developers but I simply prefer having all my game collection on the device. Guess I'm part of the problem.

Well, I'm, since Vita's release, more on the Digital side... but still have 7 physical games and had up to 15 at the same time... Arround 40 titles have passed by my hands on physical... Allways is good to have the option, speially in games like toukiden which have a updated release a year later...

BTW I just tweete him abut a comparison between the Vanilla version on Vita and this Kiwami on PS4/PSV...
