I love the Super Mario Galaxy games, but the next Mario should be something new again. Mario is one of the few franchises that are still as interesting now as 20 years ago, because the series keeps innovating itself. That should continue.

Anything but another Galaxy game. 

wow the poll is dead even. But if you look at it there's a 2:1 ratio of gamer that want another Galaxy game.

I love love love Galaxy 1 and 2, but I don't want 3. They've done their job, those games felt new and exciting. A 3rd would feel lazy and unimaginitive. A 3d HD Mario game back in the Mushroom Kingdom or something else imaginative that I have not concieved would be preferable to treading the same path again.

The next Mario game by the developers of Mario Galaxy has already been announced for 3DS.  And they've also confirmed the return of the Tanooki Suit as well as many other past powers from previous 2D Mario games.

If anything, I think that's enough.  And I'd rather see a whole new Mario game on Nintendos next system.

No, I want Super Mario Realm, or Super Mario Aquatica, or something like that. Every new Nintendo console has a new, original Mario game.

I suspect that much like every previous console change, the title will change. nes - basic Mario Bros., Gb - Land, SNES-World, 64 - 64,  gamecube - sunshine, wii - galaxy, "cafe" - ???

do i think there will be a mario platformer on the system ? yes.

Do I think they will keep the naming scheme? not really

Do I care? no, never stopped me before. except maybe with sunshine.
