Forums - Sony Discussion - Zipper hit by layoffs

yeah, well those people really arent pro any type of energy. they are pro-blackout, pro-stoneage

not really many of them are prety pro tech, there is one self professed greenie I know (old family freind) and his house is the most high tech house I have ever been in pretty much self sufficient as well. If there was a blackout he would probably be the only one with the lights still on and running water.

yes but most/all of that tech is no where near being able to be massed produced, at cheap costs for consumers.

they are anti-oil because carbon or something, anti-coal becuase carbon, anti-nuclear because i guess what you said (even though, it produces by far the most energy, per plant), anti-wind becuase, not in my back yard, "i can maybe see a speck of windmill 10 miles off coast", anti-solar because again NIMBY, and desert must be protected or something, anti-gas because of flacking i guess. there really isnt any energy they are pro for. they say they are pro renewable energy but, then when it gets time to act, they say no.

I'm not surprised, Zipper have been awful commercially for the PS3 this generation. Their games have sold by far the least amount of copies of any Sony first party developer.

Relentless Software with the Buzz! series of games have even sold considerably more than them.

I'm not sure what its down too- poor management or lack of creativity, but Sony should never have purchased the studio.

They were doing fine until SOCOM 3. Then they just...went bonkers or something. Maybe if they'd listen to their fanbase rather than go after the COD crowd, things wouldn't be so bad.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

Well, I geuss they deserved it after SOCOM 4. Hopefully, this encourages them to go back to their roots. SOCOM was really a GREAT series. Not just because it was one of the first online games. It was actually great. Every match required strategy and tactics. It didn't come down to the guy with the fastest reflexes. It was one of the few games were you WOULD die if you left your team and tried to go lone-wolf. The maps from the SOCOM series are some of the smartest maps ever created. Even SOCOM PSP was great. I've had more fun with SOCOM PSP Games than the majority of online games on consoles.

Heres hoping they can make some good SOCOM games on the NGP...

The PSP games don't touch SOCOM II, though.
