Emo stands for emotional, it's a music "genre" and a style. Emo bands usually sing rock songs with lyrics about love etc.
It's also connected with people having depression and cutting their wrists as Soriku said, if you wanna have a taste of how an emo guy looks like...

That's why i'm not doing it again ever, the best way to solve a problem is to talk it out, it's just that some times you do some things and you don't realise just how stupid it is until after.
On the topic, I'd say play the game first before passing judgment on it.
