LOL I've been to Japan!!!! AS well as dozen of other students who all agree with me. Besides I love Japan, that's why I'm studying it. but it's the cold hard truth that in comparison they are very racist. I didn't even think they were before, but ironically because I am studying Japanese culture you kinda find out that they actually are, maybe racist is the wrong word but they do have a lot of opinions about gaijins (means foreigner and is kinda used as a demeaning word) which are totally unfounded.

racist does seem like the wrong word because having a bunch of unfounded opinions on groups of people you've never met in person is pretty much par for the course.  That's why people think French people smell, Americans all love guns, and Asian people all have small penises (yes, even the women).

Yes, but next to unfounded opinions they do often look down on outsiders. It's the truth, I don't know why we should sugarcoat it???

I would say there's a difference between sugar coating their dislike of foreigners and not calling them xenophobic.  Especially using this supposed Xenophobia as an excuse for the 360's lackluster sales in the area.

It's kind of like if I wanted to say that 360's sell best in the US because Americans are stupid, and then in support of that I showed you how they perform poorly based on standardized tests for math and science.  Just because I can bring some support towards a conclusion doesn't mean I should insult an entire country of people just as an excuse for a console's sales.

Now that's smart.

O_O

I decided to put that last part in there after figuring out I had put the phrase "Asian people all have small penises" in my post.

She told me it was her clitoris!

Ok can agree on that somewhat, he may have used the argument for the wrong reasons.

All the Japanese people I know are opened minded and NOT racist such as... my family.

read my edit, maybe racist is the wrong word. but they do have some sort of god complex over they're own ethnicity. Almost every body who has it's masters degree in Japanese culture would agree with me. I don't hate Japanese, I actually quite like them and they're mindset (maybe even because they have that god complex), otherwise I wouldn't study it any more now would I?

It's about preservation of culture, NOT skin color.  You wouldn't "understand" with your "American" attitude.  Opps. Was that "racist?"

yes but in the case of Japan that's almost the same. And actually I do understand, the Japanese are constantly trying to define themselves and what Japanese really means. And I am not American, I'm Dutch and we here do kind of the same thing actually.

And this is an awesome thing.

Yes I agree it is. I love culture and differences between cultures, it should be preserved.

One thing that I want to point out here:

Nintendogs sold about 2k more than last week. We might finally start seeing an uprise of legs.

Of course it's kind of early, and not a huge uprise, but it still could mean something.

PSP > 3DS is a great example of how GAMES make or break the sales, not hardware gimmicks, price, horsepower, or even brand name. As of now, 3DS has a weak library, and PSP has a strong library of games, being carried primarilly by Monster Hunter. Until 3DS gets a stronger library; particularly a 2D Mario game, Mario Kart, or a Monster Hunter of its own, sales will continue to be behind PSP.

Though 3DS is still getting a huge lead built up against the soon to be released NGP, while the PSP is forced to catch up to the DS, which is unreachable anyway.

Everyone, look!

Japan Hardware
Console Weekly (change) Total
PS2 53,666 (-13%) 18,173,108
PSP 50,569 (-31%) 779,746
DS 32,762 (-24%) 1,693,953
GBA 18,818 (-1%) 15,128,357
GC 6,079 (-30%) 3,714,655
PS 421 (-33%) 19,352,297
XB 258 (-41%) 467,859

February 6 2005...DS was doomed!

I'm not saying 3DS can't fail, just being outsold by one console means nothing (even if it's 6 years old), even DS dipped around 30k just 2 months after its release, 3DS numbers look worse just because it has not been launched during holidays like DS right now.

Look how much behind DS was, 17M behind, now it's about 10M ahead!

No it's not.  The numbers are wrong and haven't been adjusted, I wouldn't be surprised if PS2 was still barely ahead.

The HECK!

Are people just buying PSPs for their dogs too?

some people have cats!

Cats aren't smart enough to play videogames.

As for the numbers, I see  very little reason for Sony to try and rush NGP to the market. The PSP is doing fantastic right now in Japan.

Well, the reason why they might need to rush NGP into the market, is the world market. PSP world market is horrible. *

* assuming you were talking about the general state of the PSP, edit add: since you are talking about NGP being rolled out this eyar.

I was just talking about the state in Japan, as it won't likely be released at the same time worldwide.
