Meaning that it is possible that some who pirated MW2 enjoyed it and ended up buying Black Ops.
As I have always said and will continue to say, "The effects of piracy are incredibly overblown" and gamers need to wake up. This argument didn't matter at all until PS3 got hacked and to be honest it only adds fuel to the fire about PS3 fans being the worst. They are the only ones getting bent out of shape about piracy while at the same time witnessing that the big pirated consoles sell more software! |
I strongly agree with you about the PS3 fans. Youtube is infested with them.

You know what's fun to look at in regards to that.
The Dreamcast.
Easiest system to pirate in the world. Just burn a CD and it... no DRM at all.
Funny thing is, check out the Dreamcasts Tie Ratio, it's very high. Espiecally considering this was a product that was discontinued well before it's lifecycle was over.
Even though everyone will tell you how much Dreamcast games got pirated. Dreamcast sold a lot of games.
The PSP has a low tie ratio, why because the hacking allowed the PSP to have a number of functions completely unreleated to playing games. Meaning people were buying the PSP who wren't interested in PSP games at all, not even from a piracy standpoint.

Just read the nature of the action, they are complaining that they created and distrubted the hack. I don't see anything else.

Unlawful circumvention = what every person who uses his hack would be doing.

I actually don't want to hack my system. I'm just not self centered enough to think only about myself. Also, you do realize that if you don't update your firmware you can't play any new PS3 games right? |
I'm obviously not thinking of myself either as you can tell from my argument.
Well that's part of the trade off for keeping the Other OS. Like I said, Sony won't mandate you update the software or
buy anything for the console. Anyway hackers have been find a way through the updates recently, so are you really missing out?
My main stance is this. If you want to tamper with your machine and use homebrew, go ahead. But I do not believe you should have the same access to the Playstation Network as I do, and I think that's a fair stance.

Are you really missing out if you have to do something illegal, to get back core functions of your machine that were promised to you at the time of purchase?
I'd say....
Yes?
Also, no... your stance does sound like you are only thinking of yourself, and using the "majority" arguement as a mask for selfishness.
Since it's an arguement you are having a hard time even justifying as logical.
Also, your stance is meritless, since that's NOT was Sony is doing. Sony isn't cutting people off from PSN. They are cutting people off from PSN and one of the core features of the sysetm they bought. Playing PS3 games.

The two are lumped together, so its unlikely hacking your ps3 would be charged without distribution. And even so, talk about unenforcable.

What's worse is that this is coming from a PS fan!
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
Currently playing:
Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)
