Let's see.   It's because it's as good as any 2-D platformer ever made, and I don't give this sort of praise ever.

Why?  It has simply has the greatest level design that I have ever seen for this type of game.  I constantly asked myself how the heck they thought up all of the brilliant stuff in it.  The variety is fantastic and everytime you think that you've seen it all, the game throws you a curveball.

Now people that say that the replayability is limited haven't played the game.  After you get all of the Kong letters and puzzle pieces there is a mirror mode where you don't get the to use Diddy Kong's hover jump and you die from your first mistake.  Then there is time attack mode where you can get bronze, silver, gold, and shiny gold medals.  Try to get all of the shiny gold medals and see what happens.  As Rol stated, only a few people have done it and it's nearly impossible.  I'm going to try to do it, but don't expect to, and I can normally complete ANY game 100% with a decent struggle.  I don't know if all of my gaming efforts will ever result in me getting all of the shiny golds.

THIS! THIS! THIS,THIS,THIS !!!!

The game could have easly been in my top 10 best looking games this gen ONL IF IT WAS in HD! :( : (. God damnit Nintendo...

I know.  If the game was in HD it would have had higher production values; which would have meant that Nintendo wasn't ripping off their customers and that this product would have actually been worth $50.

50 dollars are worth the 20-40 hours I'll be putting in this game.

Replay value >>>  production value

Basically it shows Nintendo still cares about it's flagship franchises that show some rust. Donkey Kong was dying until Returns came out.

@rolstoppable well we are going to have to agree to disagree. I still believe the statements that i said. Again its not just the production I look at when it comes to the 2d platformers.  How is the replay value?? Is there any multi?? Does that multi have an online mode. Those might not be important to some people, i get that but me I want those features, especially if im paying 50 dollars

@theRepublic  Again i dont care what the market thinks I think its not worth the cash and if those who do thats all right with them

From a good platformer (regardless of the form), lots. The key is levels you can play any way you want, instead of scripted paths.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Don't lie.  There's no replay value to this game.  I defeated mirror mode without dying once and got most of the shiny golds in time attack on the first try.  9-1 took me three tries to get a shiny gold.  That was the hardest one.

And there are no online leaderboards.  What's a game without those?

Even taking your sarcasm into account, I haven't played this game yet, which is why I've been careful to avoid any comments specific to this game, but game of this type in general, and only respond to comments that apply to them in general.

The game would be much, much better if you could use the classic controller for it. The Wiimote sucks, and waggle for anything requiring delicate timing sucks even harder. I still don't understand why Nintendo doesn't at least make it an option to use a real controller for these kinds of games.

@Qays  that really pissed me off about Wario land shake it, which sucks because i love production IG, i love the anime style i like the Wario character and i like the game but that damn shaking got annoying im still going to buy the game eventually

@rolstoppable  there is only so much different ways you can finish a Mario level and a mirror mode?? if thats your thing thats cool but for me your still playing through essentially the same levels as before and thats where i kind of get bored. When you've played thru NSMB what is there left to see??? Yes you can try to get all the little trinkets but your still going to be playing thru the same levels to get those.
