You can't really rule out a game announcement though, because it has happened before (Phantom Hourglass). Not that this means that anyone should get their hopes up, because it's certainly not the rule.

More on topic: I think nothing special will come out of this.

Phantom Hourglass was absolutely not announced at the keynote, to which this thread refers.

I am pretty sure Spirit Tracks was, but GDC is a big blurry mess to me really. Similarly Twilight Princess got its trailer in the long long ago...

Alright, but its first trailer was shown during GDC and a Zelda trailer is once again something the original poster is hoping to see.

Again, the topic refers to the keynote. The entire point of this topic is the keynote.

It looks like this is going to be a somewhat big deal. Why else would they live stream it? Here's what I think we'll see:

- eShop details. 3d classics, virtual console games, and 3DSware line-ups revealed.

- 3DS american tour details.

- Zelda Skyward Sword details.

- Wii Relax w/ Vitality Sensor revealed. Iwata said they were waiting for a more "relaxing" event to announce it at and GDC makes perfect sense.

- Pikmin 3?

- New Super Mario Bros 3DS?

I'm not expecting anything huge either, but that said, I am kind of interested in what Iwata has to say about the current state of the gaming industry and where things should go from here.

Well, if there's nothing Zelda-related shown.....

Damn, I wish I had a panic room >_< .

If nothing exciting is announced... don't look for me under my bed, because I, uh (cough), won't be hiding there (shifty eyes) .

Do you have any idea what GDC is? This is not E3, and this is the keynote, not a press conference. They're not here to announce games. Iwata-san is giving the keynote to the industry. I.e. it's going to be industry and development related information and themes.

Dude, Nintendo are live streaming this: http://gdc2011.nintendo.com/ They'll show new stuff..

In the past they've had three Zelda trailers, one which was a game announcement, they've shown off the virtual console in depth, announced Rock and Roll Climbers, Arcade VC games, Wii Firmware 4.0 (SD card menu) etc so it's not unprecedented..

I hope they announce at least 1 or 2 games for 1st half of 2011.  There are literally no Wii games so far this year.

Most anticipated games of 2011:

Uncharted 3,Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Rocksmith

Modern Warfare 3, Super Mario 3D

Nintendo is live streaming Mr. Iwata's keynote address. No WAY would they be doing that unless he has something fairly important to say. Of course it may not be a new console or anything like that, but something will be unveiled.
