Nintendo doesn't want the DS to compete with the 3DS, lowering the DS price will make it do just that. Sony on the hand want to subvert attention from the 3DS, they have no desire to see it do well.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Serriously why do people seem to have a selective memory about this?

They're not going to do it 2 years in a row. And besides that a price cut wouldn't have any major impact anyway. It barely had an impact last year. A price cut at this point would just be leaving money on the table.
