I am seeing some attractive offers on Call of Duty games and I am now thinking of taking the plunge back into the game (the last CoD I played was CoD 2). I am not a big FPS fan, generally preferring games in other genres (my only FPS is KZ2), however the good prices are tempting.

Now my questions:

What should I buy MW2 or Blops?

Is the MW2 community still active and are games less glitchy than the Blops ones?

Is the single player of one better than the other?

Also, how long would Activision keep servers live for its games?

Get Killzone 3 instead. Just gotta wait 2 days. If not, Black Ops has a bigger player base on PS3.

More hacks, fewer glitches, less Treyarch bullcrap. Active community, but full of idiots who abuse OMA every game. BO wins here.

MW2 singleplayer was better IMO.

A while. COD4 PS3 servers are still up, been out over 3 years. So its about the same time online as EA keeps there servers up.

my suggestion would be black ops.  the ps3 has been plagued with hackers for a while now and mw2 suffers greatly from it.  i know sony and IW are trying to address the issue and support the aging game, but black ops is where the focus is and where the better gaming experience is going to come from for the long run.

Do you have a PS3? MW2 was hacked well before the whole Geohot thing. And IW didn't care back then, I doubt they care now.

I have thought about KZ3 but from what I am seeing it looks very much like KZ2. Was hoping that a CoD could give a different experience.

What do you mean by Treyarch crap? The internet is full of people thinking that they were the good developers. Am I wrong in thinking this?

They are not good at developing for PS3. At all.

Get Black Ops because it is far better then MW2

On what level? Single player, story, multi-player?

Single player story is probably about the same as MW2 but Multiplayer is where Black Ops shines compared to MW2. Its far less glitchy, way more balanced, has a far better unlock system for guns and everything, splitscreen MP, and has really cool extra modes like wager matches. And it has Nazi Zombies which is quite fun to play with friends.

 Black ops its prolly your better choice here. Definitly much better balance (mw2 is crazy unbalanced and is by far the most frustrating game i have ever played), better maps, fewer glitchs and hacks, i think mw2 was better in the lag regards ops just seems to always be laggy, games disconnect, and connections flip out all the time (although my internet is pretty bad). But with ops too your getting a much more complete package zombies, combat zone, multiple people being able to play online under one name, file share community. Havent done single player yet but mw2 was really nothing special...at all. Cod4 is still much better than both in all areas.
