Microsoft have revealed via a promotional video at their Mobile World Live keynote that a future update will allow Windows Phone 7 users to interact with Kinect titles.

In the video, they demonstrated a phone user pitted against their friend in the 'Rally Ball' game in Kinect Adventures. The Kinect user has to deflect balls spawned and controlled in real time on the phone. 

Joe Belfiore who oversees Windows Phone Program Management was keen to note that the software is currently running on real code, it is not a concept video or a prototype, and we should naturally see much more of this type of integration in the future.

Things they announced for WP7 at the mobile conference in Barcelona include:

Internet explorer 9 with HTML 5 and flash support
Copy/paste - update postponed to march 2011.
True multitasking
Kinect/WP7 integration
3D hardware acceleration

...all of which are coming in 2011.

I've never seen Microsoft move this fast with a product before.

It doesn't really seem like Kinect integration so much as it is Xbox integration. Hopefully we'll see some interesting games using this capability.

I agree mate, people keep bitching about the delaying but they clearly are going to add more than they simply think. MS has done bloody well in this. Nokia could obviously see reason in this.

Like I said to someone recently I chose ms as my consoles because the things they come up with are ridiculous, and if they get threatened they go nuts.

Wow. Microsoft is doing a great job of integration of their products. They've been speaking about it for years, and now it is finally happening.
