I am starting this thread so that we can keep up with any bit of info we get from various countries regarding the sales of these 2 consoles so that we can have a clear picture about worldwide sales ( since i've seen a lot of BS regarding this matter) .

Here we go :

U.S (NPD)

Xbox360 6.8 million

PS3 4.3 million

Japan (Media Craete)

Ps3 1.58 million

Xbox360 210k

France (GFK)

PS3 822k

Xbox 260 550k

Spain (GFK)

Ps3 600k

Xbox360~ 300k

The only other bit of info that we have is that in the U.K the xbox360 was the best selling home console in 2010, the ps3 was 3rd and that both consoles sold 2.4 million combined. Let's hope that we'll get more specific info on the U.K  and for Germany and Italy so we can have approximately worldwide sales for these 2 consoles . Of course a many tiny markets will always be missing but if we get numbers from these 3 European markets we'll have a good picture of what outsold what in 2010.

There will more than likely be adjustments to the numbers after we get shipment data.

I don't care about shipment data . This thread will be updated with every bit of info that we'll be receIving regarding ACTUAL SALES .

Statistically that is a tie. Both numbers are well within a standard deviation apart.

It seems you don't know johnglen. He doesn't trust VGC numbers at all...

But anyway, it's good to have different sources for sales.

VGChartz doesn't report shipment data. The sales VGC show are sold to consumers. Not sold to retail.

They are actual sales.

Italy's honestly a pretty tiny (and inconsequential) market as well.  If it makes the cut we should also start talking about Canada, Korea, Australia, etc.

I think the US, Japan, UK and EU's big 3 (France, Gemany, Spain, in that order iirc) are probably enough to get a good idea.
