Forums - Sony Discussion - Mass Effect 3 ps3 preview(ign)

Good choice by Bioware to take out some of the hacking from main missions. After 3 playthroughs of ME2, I am completely sick of hacking (and planet scanning).

I doubt many people will heed this advice but seriously play Mass Effect 1 if you have a halfway decent PC or an x360. It's a different beast than ME2 and is completely mandatory to play before you get your hands on this. The comic will give you an overview but it can't do the original game justice.

tl;dr: PLAY MASS EFFECT 1 FIRST, SERIOUSLY

I'm glad all ps3 owner will get  Mass Effect 2 and 3. But I honestly think that the interactive comic is lame. You should play Mass Effect 1 on PC at least before mass effect 2 on your PS3. It's a fantastic game, even if you can't transfert your saves.  Mass effect 2 as so much think related to the first game I don't think 15 minutes of an interactive comic can compare with all relations you've got with your allies and enemies in Mass Effect 1.

My first playtrough was around 30hours...15minutes vs 30hours....hum...there is something wrong. It's still a nice effort from Bioware but you ow it to youselt to play Mass Effect 1.

You know, its sad that even this thread has turned into a 360 vs PS3 opportunity for some of you.

*sigh*

The world's a better place now that more gamers are exposed this amazing series (minus the first game).  Why can't we just leave it at that ...?

ME2 on the PS3 = massive replay value since it's going to have a shorter version of ME1 where you can blaze through decision making instead of playing the whole game.

EXCITED!!

At first, I was like if you really want the definite experience of the ME trilogy, you need a 360 or a decent PC. And then I started playing ME2 again recently, tried to import my ME character for a paragon run ... and then I realize I was a unbelievable prick throughout all of 4 playthrough in ME. To add even more, my ME disc no longer works. That interactive comic is sounding pretty good ... too bad my PS3 is broke, too. Such misfortune.

My hype levels for this game just keep going up! I really hope PS3 fans take this game to heart and repay the massive favour EA has done for us by making this franchise multiplatform.

So the PS3 comes with all the DLC and is sharper than the 360 version... hmmmm.

I might consider picking this one up.

Hmm interesting question but will they release ME2 GOTY edition for PC/X360 alongisde it ?
