So because they are JPRGs they're just like Lost Oddysey?  Come on.  I don't think you've ever played Lost Odyssey.  It's totally not appropriate for a 5 year old, they would be bored in 5 mins and never mind the large READING portion of the game.  No 5 year old wants to sit through a bunch of people talking about their emotions for 50 hours.

If they guy was only buying 2 or 3 games and followed your bad advice he would have wasted 50 bucks.

I think its sorta funny people suggesting Splatter House and Dante. But what I gather is other then liscensed movie games and lego games their really isn't much. I did suggest to him that he buy a Wii instead, though he never replied to my email.

I myself grew up on the Atari2600 and NES around 3-6 yr old. I grew up playing Donkey Kong and MarioBros on the 2600 and later all of Nintendo's great games on the NES. I of course would suggest Nintendo for any parent as the games can be enjoyed by everyone, its not sheltered its just innocent fun.

Personally I'd suggest he buy his kid a Wii with Epic Yarn , New Super Mario Bros and other mario games like Mario Kart as well as Wii party. Not to mention Diego and other childrens games.

As for RPGs and difficult games. He's five at five I was good at Mario , Duck Hunt and Donkey Kong Zelda. I couldn't read well enough for an RPG till like grade 2!

I played zelda at 5 too... it was all in english anyways and I couldn't read much english until I was 7 (games were my primary source of learning for english writting... english classes didn't start before 10 in french schools at the time)

just get him a wii instead...shouldnt be to hard to find a couple few thousand games for a 5 years old (YH I WENT THERE BITCHES MW AHA HA HA lol)
