Forums - Gaming Discussion - Do you consider MMORPGS "real" games?

yes at least more real than fitness games IMO.

Around the Network

Depends on the mmorpg. Playing an enchanter in the original everquest was probably one of the most hardcore gaming experiences I ever had. An extremely powerful and versatile class for crowd control, getting mobs and outdamaging any other class if you manage to hold on to a charmed powerful fully buffed mob to do the damage for you. (or to you if you're not careful)

Quickly selecting the right mob and right spell out of dozens means the difference between life and 1 hit death and losing hours worth of xp. The best was rounding up 20 to 30 mobs with 3 wizards and a cleric, chain stunning them while area effect nuking the c rap out of them. Dangerous but a lot of fun.

But in the end WoW lured me over. At lvl 68 repeatedly dying just became to painful, and the only way forward was grinding raids for better gear. One bad group could set you back days.

Compared to that I wonder if running around in CoD with 2 guns and regenerating health can be considered a real game :p

every1 knows pc games don't count as real games, hohoho

Above: Best Wii game since Brawl.
