I'll say it right now I'm fairly sure it's going to fall short. How short, not too sure yet.

On it's fifth november Wii sold more copies in Black Friday week than PS2 sold in the whole month of november 5th year on the market.

I fail to see why exactly people are so doubtful of this. Looking at how the multipliers worked out for the previous month and the fact that Wii is up almost 10% on last year's Black Friday, I'd say TheSource is hugely lowballing the Wii. You haven't even used your only real argument, that Wii's sales were loaded onto BF because of better deals, which is still kinda debatable.

Holicrap @ Wii vs PS2.  I knew Wii was doing better, but I just didn't realize how much better... it's like the reverse of Japan.

Enough to cancel out Japan though and give it the ~8 million it'll need to pass the PS2 LTD you think?

Well, launch aligned it's only around 2-3m behind PS2 iirc.  That'll grow in time though.

I wonder if Wii can eventually outsell GBA or even SNES in Japan?

The problem with NPD is that they don't give numbers anymore which they can use to spin sales and make the HD consoles the "winners" even if they are not.

I think that Wii will outsell the competition this xmas again. But I think it will be the last one. I guess that next year sales will get lower to all consoles and neither kinect nor move will be around in a year.

I think Wii will sell for 150$ next christmas so that should put in in first place one more time untill Wii2 arrives in 2012.
