Every quater we hear Sony is overshipping, every quater Sony keeps shipping, when are these comapanies going to stop accepting these shipments. I thought they could return them.

LOL. Why do you keep buying them if you have that many? did Sony Force you to buy them? Not really. Common sense says that you should stop buying them, however, it looks either that PS3 is selling well, or you company lacks basic business skills.

It's a government conspiracy at the federal level.  Sony made a deal with the new Republican controlled House to force retailers to buy their products.  Why?  I dunno.  Ask the OP.  He's good at making up stories.  Maybe he can finish this one up... if believable.

Wow Gamestop is retarded if they really don't let their own store managers choose what they want/need for their individual store.

Thats a crapload of PS3s for a gamestop BTW

It's not Sony Channel stuffing it's just bad estimates by corporate.  Their orders for this quarter were obviously on the high side and all it really means is that next quarter orders will slow to allow inventory to come down.

I know when I was working at EB games we always had a stack of 20 or so PS3s, but they come and go, always a constant supply.  In contrast we never had any Wiis (this was when everything sold as soon as they came in) and 360s would come in a few at a time, get close to selling out then we'd have more.  You say you had that stack of PS3s for a while, and they're not selling, but it sounds like your supply is selling, it's just getting replenished as fast as they sell (Unless you said your stack has been getting bigger since September then I misread.)

Well, you kind of get the picture.

Back in July, we had around 8-10 PS3's upstairs and none downstairs, and by the time they sold out we'd have more shipment. It's like a cycle. So it seemed small, but it was steady whichis good.

Over the months, we'd get more shipment then normal and our "stack" would get bigger. Now it's to the point that we have mass quantities. The thing is, it's not like PS3 isn't selling; it is. Sony's campaign is making sure of that. And also, Wii's and 360's are selling more (here and it seems all of America, according to this site). It's backwards-assed, and when I ask my manager things regarding this he shrugs his shoulders.

Dude you keep killing your own argument.

First, as An Assistant Manager, you should know that December is the month that sells the most consoles, the smart thing for a comapny to do, is to have enough supply ready. Yes, the Wii and 360  are sellig more, but that's every year in America.

Trust me, there will be shortages for all three at the beginning of the year.

Or maybe that store isn't selling many PS3's because...  Well, let's just say that store employees have their console allegiances, too.

You have no idea what you're talking about.

YES, ALL of those things are correct, and this is logic anyone can know. HOWEVER, this year we have 3x as much as last year. And it didn't just start like this in Dec, or November or even October. And last year the demand for PS3 was MUCH greater; I can tell you this for a fact. Especially the holidays.

If you don't understand then there's no point; I'll let someone else respond to you.

What I don't understand is you say you're a "little" store, but you have 2 stock rooms, one in a basement and the other upstairs?  I've been to 3 or 4 Gamestops so far and I have to say neither have had a basement.  Just a tiny ass stock room in the back of the store.

Also, if you guys are in NO WAY in charge of ordering your stock, why is it I can go into any local Gamestop and if they don't have a game I wanted, they say they can order it for me?  This how I was able to purchase Indigo Prophecy last year.
