Forums - Nintendo - LAST STORY hits number one at Amazon.co.jp pre-orders

Looks like packaging THE LAST STORY with the Wii and offering bonus items really is paying off for this title in Japan.  The title has just skyrocketed to the number one chart at Amazon.co.jp's pre-order bestsellers.  The Wii may not be at its prime any longer in Japan, but this is encouraging.  Whether that will translate to solid sales, if not for the console then certainly the game, remains to be seen.

I would have posted this in preexisting topics, but unfortunately, system errors won't allow me to.  I wonder what's wrong with my account?

When is this out, because its seems a bit early for the preorders to hit no 1, i didnt even know a release date was announced.

oh and imo this game could be what FF13 was supposed to be, we could see a major resurgence in JRPGs in the west if this title is successful - which i think it will be. the online itself sounds very innovative, and could bring in a new type of gamer in... if they can pull it off!!

I sincerelly hope that this title will be astounishing. Nobuo Uematsu FTW!!!!

Can someone please explain to me the whole baby seal stuff like I´m a 6 year old. I´ve never gotten it.

OT: I hope the game can do fine

very nice, I think this deserves it's own thread tbh. this will be out in January if i am not mistaken.

i do not get the seal thing either :P

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

This seems to be one of the most well made Wii third party (second party?) games in terms of passion and dedication to the development, along with Epic Mickey. And usually that must passion put into a game will translate to good sales.

It's just that most Wii third party games have little care put into them, which is why they naturally sell poorly. Consumers can pick up on how much care a developer puts into their game.

It will be out the 27th of January, plenty of time to increase preorders in Japan. I am afraid because it's a new IP and Japanese people do not get on very well with it but we will see. Nintendo must do a very good job marketing this game.

bet with Mordred11 that Rage will look better on Xbox 360.
