I was just about to post that some Kinect functionality in shooters would be cool (melee attacks?). But looks like the rumour has been shot down already.

I have no idea as to how Kinect can enhance Gears of War 3 but I'm no CliffyB so if that's the case, then I'm sure CliffyB and the talents at Epic Games will work a way with it. If they can't then obviously it'll turn out to be just some tacked on feature.
Pretty sure Cliffy tweeted "no way" in Gears. My expectation - assuming it's not totally hot air - is a Gears Universe based spin of using Kinect. I really doubt - unless Clffy accepts a 180 - that Gears 3 will use Kinect, unless it's a very minor bit of added stuff. He's gone on record as saying no and the IP ultimately belongs to Epic (not saying MS can't put pressure on, but they can't insist either so far as I know).
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Headtracking for what exactly?
Whilst messing around with the Kinect Tuner, I noticed that Kinect would place the blue dot(point of interest, head, hands, etc) on the controller when I held it with both hands. This would allow for both hands to be on the controller and still use gestures to do things. Such as leaning by moving the controller to either side. Or leaping over a ledge by moving the controller up. Perhaps crouching by moving the controller down. Quick gestures could be used such as the waggle controls for many Wii games. Just another tool for devs to use when implementing Kinect features.
