Forums - General Discussion - The NBA discussion thread

I think there was one around for the playoffs, but there should be a permanent discussion thread, just like there's a football one. Surely there must be someone else besides me that watches it, right?

So, let's see, I'm a Celtics fan, I also like the Jazz and the Warriors, but first and foremost a Celtics fan...and a Lakers hater by transitivity.

Anyone else that likes NBA, so we can get some discussion going?

I'm a fairly big NBA fan, but I found over the span of a few years that in a league filled with big individuals it's pretty hard for me to remain loyal to a single team. If I was going to choose any single team I'm partial to without the presence of a huge star I'd go with the Blazers, though Roy deserves a lot more credit than he gets, he's brilliant.

Well, my two favorite players are Rondo and Deron Williams (though that might be because they play in my favorite teams ), I really love how the two play and I'm pretty sure if they moved I'd like them to do well, but I also know that I'd keep supporting the teams (Celtics for sure, Jazz not so much but I'd still like them)

Speaking of Jazz, they're doing a comeback similar to yesterday, all three pointers all over again

So, Utah beat Orlando in a reallly amazing match, can't believe they came back AGAIN in the 4th, it's incredible when they start sinking those 3-pointers in a row.

Celtics-Heat today, I hope we can win, but it shall be a good match, let's hope for a repeat of the opener game. Denver-Lakers should be an interesting game, though the Nuggets aren't really having a good season

Big Thunder (used to be Sonics) fan.  Struggling this year.  4-3, but they just haven't looked good.  So far, the Lakers look unbeatable, the Jazz and Hornets look really good, and Miami has been disappointing.

I got the NBA League Pass "Choice", where I get to choose 7 teams whose games I can watch.  So far picked my Thunder, the Heat, and the Lakers (because I hate the Lakers and want to root against them).  Still can choose 4 more but haven't decided yet.  Really wish the PS3 would get an app like the MLB and just released NHL so I can watch them over that.  Oh well.

Disappointing is a bit harsh on Miami to be fair, but preseason worries about their lack of defense at the PG position has been shown true; I imagine we'll see Wade or LeBron keeping a close eye on Rondo tonight

I really liked the League Pass in the free preview they offered, but, well, it expired and I'm not gonna pay. I really miss it, but I get around with streams, not ideal, but you can watch pretty much any game.

If you're wondering what team to pick, I really suggest Jazz, Warriors and Suns as three candidates, their games (or the ones I've watched, at least) are really interesting and usually decided in the last mins. Warriors and Suns games are usually very high scoring too (think 120 points apiece)

I don't follow it, but my mate who does tells me that I have to hate the Miami Heat and Le Bron James.

Also Raptors would be the team I support, because I lived in Canada for a while and they were they locals.

Raps suck ass and are shit like every toronto team, especially the ones owned by the trashbag scum MLSE.  I cant support any TO team no only do they suck their fans are sheep.  Most expensive tickets to see the worst teams, priceless.

Personally i support Celtics, Magic go Gortat and Heat just casue all the butt hurt peeople over Lebron going there.

The hate for Miami really is quite funny; LeBron no doubt handled the situation terribly but it was well within his right to leave an awfully managed Cleveland team. I'm sure he got sick of making Mike Brown look like an above average coach, and after Dan Gilbert's comments, his decision was all the more vindicated.
