The rumour mill is on a roll full speed ahead and this time the rumour is Goerge Lucas is planning another StarWars trilogy. This trilogy is rumoured to be planned for after the whole series is redone in 3D. Rumour has it Lucas is planning to forget the Skywalker family and create a new protagonist and antagonist.

This is just a rumour but are you psyched. I would go ballistic if this movie trilogy turned out to be real!

I'm not sure what to think at this point. I'd rather they continue the story than have brand new characters though. Its not really Star Wars without guys like Luke, Han, Chewy, etc.

yea but the problem with that is that GL already allowed other people to catalog their adventures in books etc, and he doesn't want to go out and whitewash over that work. And the other option of making movies based on other people's work, I don't think that is really what GL would wan't to do he would probably much prefer to Wright his own narrative. Besides I think being tied to existing characters and events was one of the problems with ep 1-3.

Having said that movie adaptations of the novels set after ep6 would be interesting.
