Then again what does the 2.5 million figure mean and how many does he think Move sold instead of the 300k he thought before?

1 million shipped and not sold to consumers (the article CLEARLY states this http://www.industrygamers.com/news/ps3s-move-has-sold-1-million-units-in-north-america/), 300.000 sold to consumers = 30% sell thru in one month = FLOP

 

Just like the 1.5 million thing in Europe its pure Sony PR bull to look like it's a success.

Which isn't that surprising.  I bought a controller to mess around with demos while waiting for LBP2/KZ3 to come out.  Haven't bought any games yet.  I'm sure others simply patched RE5, Heavy Rain ,etc. as well.

Reading comprehension ftw.  Pachter INITIALLY esimated it sold around 300k. His latest statements say that his INITIAL estimates were too low.

40 million? More? I have 4. About 20 million have been bought with software. So if people buy on average 1 more... that would be 40 million.

It could partly be undertracking.  But, I suspect mostly it's people being more interested in playing with free demos and/or playing games that are patchable (Eye Pet, HR, RE5, Mag, and vearious PSN games).  This goes especially for EU, as they already had Eye Pet release without Move.  I bet a lot of Move sales come from owners of Eye Pet who wanted a better controller for it, besides the "magic" card.
