Well Pokemon is on a very short way on becoming the #1 best selling franchise in the entire world topping Mario if hasn't already topped it whether people like it or not.

The pairs of pokemon games really are the same game with some very minor differences. I agree with them being tracked as a single game and it's how all the major trackers track them.

It's like this, for Pokemon, would many people buy both versions or no? If the difference is so small then people won't do it...I'm just saying, Pokemon sales are amazing..but comparing it to Halo is stupid.

I don't see why it's stupid, they're two of the largest series in the world so sales comparisons say something about the state of gaming.

That's not what's being done here tho...the OP is stating how amazing pokemon sales to the point that even Halo is no match for it....that's not talking about state of gaming by any means...if it was, then it would be something like

"Even if some people complain the industry is going down, sales for games like Reach, Fifa11, GOW3 are showing quality games sell amazingly. Pokemon is another game that's doing amazingly well. Sales for this game has been crazy gooooooood"

Again not saying Pokemon sales are bad, in fact they are nothing short of amazing. I was just pointing out the unneeded 'comparison' of sales between these games and Halo. That's all...anywho no need to argue about this tho :D it's all good...

Not really, even only taking into account 'main' Mario games (platformers) it still mostly trounces Pokemon, taking into account spinoffs - especially the kart series - Mario is much larger this generation. Even if B/W gets 25 mill.

The slight differences in pokemon versions meant to encourage trading. They are pretty much the same game.

Please, I have the Missingno. cheat memorized forever, everything in that game is like riding a bike for me. 

But I didn't use the code until I.....caught 'em all.....and beat the Pokemon League.  I just didn't wanna raise another 80 guys to level 100 lol.  And I used Gameshark for Mew, but only because there's no non-cheating, non-glitch way to get him. 

Love that game, still have it and my GB Color.  Still have my old gray brick GB actually!

@Mugen, I am not implying that even halo is no match for it. I'm just suprised, I mean honestly suprised, that the sales in Japan alone are almost up to the sales of Reach worldwide which I believ is the fastest selling Halo game ever. I can't even directly compare them....handheld to console!
