It's not true. Why? One simple reason: without the Wii, there would be no Kinect. No doubt they had the technology being worked on in some form for some time, but they would have been content to simply stick with traditional controllers for the XBox had it not been for the overwhelming success of the Wii.

Since when has R&D, tech Demo's ever count as a true product release? It's like saying I had the idea for Windows, iPhone etc but I never got around distributing it!!! It's just lame, and besides Nintendo had been working on motion control pre-2001 as seen in their investment and collaboration with gyration inc which they had purchased a small minority share in during that tim "Unearthed: Nintendo's Pre-Wiimote Prototype". Gizmodo so all that bull about Sony doing motion control before Nintendo is just that...all bull. Even if Sony was researching motion control before Nintendo (they didn't) R&D never accounts to anything unless they ACTUALLY RELEASE THE PRODUCT!!! Just look at the hybrid cars right now Prius is known to mainstream as the first hybrid even though the Big 3 had the blu=print to the technology as Toyota had the kahuna's to release it first!!!
Joysticks and buttons are holding the Wii back.

peter knows Kinect is garbage is just fooling everybody.
There's a definite step forward with Kinect. Then a step back, and a step to the left, one to the right... maybe a spin around and finally a jump up and down...
VGChartz
yes it is fresh but it's not gonna work with lots and lots of game
and it's not that fun when you don't feel anything with you when you are controlling something in a game feels more like an idiot when playing in such manner

*Sigh*....I highly doubt you've even tried Move based on your bullshit defensive and offensive maneuvers...but please, try it out, Play Sports Champions Frisbee Golf and Gladiator Duel for like 30 minutes, and you'll stop calling it a wii copy...
Ed: If the controllers looking similar is your only argument on the copy front, good luck to you sir
Just waiting for that PS Vita to come out so I can play some full featured games on the go with that beautiful screen and control scheme...
In light of the fact that it won't work with 99% of games, I'm gonna go ahead and disagree. It's a giant step back.
