Or is it already dead? I haven´t heard anything about Sony killing it

Anyway, I just got mine (they are so cheap now), and I am having a lot of fun!

However, I feel there are a lot of things I don't now about this legendary piece of hardware. The problem is  most of the people is busy discussing current and even next generation consoles and games.

Now that all the dust is settled down, is easier to apreciate what games are really good. (Yes, I want you to make suggestions, please)

So... I made this thread with two different objectives:

1) Discuss if the PS2 is already dead or predict when is it going to die...

2) And I will like to get the most out of the console. Not only from the games (unknown and underated gems) but also from the hardware itself

I shud get some games for my PS2. Also I reccomend SIlent Hill2 and Prince of Persia Sands of Time (Its better than its two sequels or at least is considered to be) Because Zero Punctuation said they were good.

I meant AGONIZING in the title as suffering a slow death. (What a faux pas)

The PS2 will never die, it's already sold 1.5 million this year, it may even do 4 - 5 million by the end of the holidays, that's insane!

yea, and 360 did 1.4 M the same quarter

1.5M- PS2

1.4M- 360

1.2M- PSP

The only game i can think of not in those series thats in that league is Resident Evil 4, maybe Code Veronica X (maybe). Silent Hill 2 is also supposed to be really good, but i wouldnt know havent played it.

Persona 3: FES I liked better than Persona 4 but many will disagree, but both are good.
But play
Shadow Hearts Covenent (it's Shadow Hearts 2) : My second favorite JRPG on it besides FFX and one of my favorite games.

Others I enjoyed
Dark Cloud 2 (not 1)
Beyond Good And Evil
As well as Devil May Cry if you like the God of War Series if you had not tried them. (They aren't exactly the same but yeah)
