Top 10 Put To Shame By Halo Reach

____________________________________________________________

With the release of Halo Reach just around the corner. We take a look at the content that has been revealed. Halo Reach has tonnes of features and overwhelming amount of content, that has various types of genres within a FPS game.Thier is so much variety and so much to do come September 14th.

10. Fifa / Gran Turismo Replay Systems

Overshadowed By : Theatre Mode

Replay systems came way before Halo's theatre mode. Back in football games and racing games..but none did it like the revolutionary and innovative 'Theatre Mode' back in Halo 3. Fifa replay systems had years to innovative and improve, But here we have a system that goes beyond what Fifa or racing games replay system can offer. Theatre Mode allows you to watch your online or campaign or custom games or firefight games from any angle, any viewpoints or even free cam. Take screenshots and record clips the way you want to. Do you hate it when you score a spectacular goal and you accidently press start to the kick off? Then you press replay again and shows the kick off? Well no worries Halo's theatre mode keeps a history of upto 25 recent games. So you can never miss a spectacular kill or awesome moment where every it is. Theatre mode is returning in Halo Reach. But so far Bungie haven't unvieled if they will be implementing any improvements in it. But you can see the influence it had on the gaming industry with Uncharted 2 taking the idea on board and recently Call Of Duty : Black Ops.

9. Assasins Creed

Overshadowed By : Assassinations

Assasins Creed a game about assasins...how could it be possible for Halo Reach to top it? With brutal assasinations, which make Altair and Ezio blush. Read this quote from Bungie...

" According to animation producer Matt Richenburg, all told there are over forty custom assassinations packed into the shipping product, most multiplayer, some specific to campaign. "  Bungie Weekly Update 8/13/10

You heard right over forty assasinations....below were just a handful from the beta.

 8. Mario Kart

Overshadowed By : Race Gametype

What racing in Halo?! Yep it also has racing too. Bungie has  incorporated a full racing playlist...combined with user created maps and gametypes racing will take off in Halo like no other. What replaces the red shells and powerups of Mario Kart? Simple Spartans can hop on the back of the mongooses and unleash variety of Halo weaponary on other unsuspecting racers. With the addition of live landmines to dodge alot of fun is to be had.

7. RPG Games

Overshadowed By :  : Overwhelming amount of customization and settings

RPG games are known to be long games which last for 50 hours and offer deep amount of customization of characters alike. But with Halo Reach the replay value is of 5 years. Customization in armoury is extensive and playing with staggering amount of settings to adjust just how exactly you want to play the game.

6. Little Big Planet

Overshadowed By : Forge World

Little Big Planet a great game. Offering alot of customization. But with Halo Reach this level of customization is found only in part of its game....yes Forge 2.0. Its Little Big Planet but in HD 3D! Making your own maps and gametypes makes you wonder if Little Big Planet is a retail game as Forge is a part of a bigger game. Share Create Enjoy! Who knows if your map is good enough it will come into matchmaking online approved by Bungie! Little Big Planet 2 is looking stellar.

5. Call Of Duty : Black Ops

Overshadowed By : Space Warfare

Call of Duty Blacks Ops had a good showing at Microsoft E3 booth where they showcased helicopter gameplay.. was very cool from the view of the cockpit...where as Halo has been doing aerial combat for a long time now...but Reach had went to the next level...they literally had reached for space!

4. Left For Dead

Overshadowed By : Firefight 2.0

Left For Dead a very fun and chaotic game , Killing zombies has never been so much fun. But with Firefight 2.0 boasting the level of customization to the users that will leave it Left For Dead. Do you want Hunters only in Left for Dead..well you can't..but can in Firefight 2.0! You can choose exactly what enemy types you want to fight and even how they behave and to what weapons you have in your disposal. Endless customization. In addition with Infection mode a popular Halo 3 game mode, not yet revealed but confirmed in Reach..it will be very interesting if Bungie improve upon infection or even let player zombies play with Flood models!

3. Hack & Slash Games

Overshadowed By : 60 AI on screen at once

Hack & slash games have always boasted about the amount of enemies on screen at once...but these AI are brainless and button bashing will get rid of groups of enemies with ease. Halo Reach is going to have 60 AI ( suppose to have 40 AI, But updated ) Halo AI is one of industrys best and are not scripted to path finders or events. They will even use vehicles in a open enviroment..We haven't seen this in action yet...but just imagine in first person view fighting..60 AI at once....HOLY.

" We put a new level of detail system into our AI system as well ... we put up to 60 AI in a scene. We could only do 20 before. So now we have tons of characters out there, there's all kinds of fun things to do in the sandbox as you play through the game as a result." Marcus Lehto

2. Games With Stat Tracking

Overshadowed By : Superior Stat Tracking

No where else you will find the amount of stat tracking anywhere else in games not even GTA stats page can compare. From in game pre game stats to Bungie.net , a world of stats to all the  games you play in your lifetime and stored on Bungie.net. With stats on how you play, what weapons you use most, KD ratios , heat maps...you can basically do scientific research on how you play In Halo Reach.
In addition to arena league tables and seasons.

1. Blu-Ray

Overshadowed By : Sheer Amount of Content found on a measely Xbox 360 DVD

You would think that a 50 GB disc will have large amount of game content due to the disk space for developers to play with.. why haven't we seen this yet? With Xbox 360 disc with around 9gb of space...How did Halo Reach fit that amount of content within a single disc...and having more content then Blu-Ray games to this date?

Do you agree? I doubt many will, but still gives you a good idea of how much Halo Reach has to offer.

Take my love, take my land..

This post is epic win, not so much in that its true that it beats every game in every genre but I don't see how its possible for anyone to argue with the sheer amount of quality content going into Reach.  Its almost staggering the amount of stuff Bungie has put into this incredible package.

My and many others GOTY undoubtedly.

they are overdoing everything. the content looks good. and the bluray one is just ridiculous.

Being in 3rd place never felt so good

Just when I thought I couldn't get any more hyped about the game I come on here and read this thread. :)

No wonder Halo is the king...   The haters just don't understand that Halo is so much more than the pretty face / scripted AI of the supposed "Halo killers".

Does Space Warfare better than Black Ops?

No shit, lol. Black Ops isn't Space Warfare.

That doesn't make a blue-ray anyless neccessary like the article is hinting towards. The reason the developer haven't strived for "this level of content" is because they see no reason to. This is a staple fact: "Quantity doesn't equal Quality".

Remember blue-ray isn't just for games, if 1080p movies can be packed into 9gb why would the industry adopt Blue-ray and not HD-DVD?

There are a lot of game which breaks the barrier 9 or even come close to 10 with 1/3 of the content Halo reach has.

This doesn't make Halo Reach "The greatest game ever made" or even put other games to shame. Perhaps at this moment Halo Reach "might" push the standard for "FPS" games, but how long till the others developers catch up? Can you dispute that the other franchises with this amount of content isn't in development at this point of time?

I'm sure Halo Reach is a great great great game but the only people who will take this article with more than a pinch of salt will be the Halo FANS. The rest, not very much so.

Halo has been revolutionizing the FPS genre since the original game launched and to to this day 90% of console shooters haven't even come close to what Halo 3 has been able to accomplish.  Halo Reach puts other games to shame plain and simple.

However of course some of this is rediculous such as the Blu-Ray part.  That's just stupid Blu-Ray is amazing.

But Halo Reach is the King of FPS plain and simple and when Bungie does something they don't do it unless its fantastic.  They are notoriously the most self critical gaming company out there.  That's what is so impressive about Reach its has massive amounts of quanity and quality.

It's simply too expensive at this point to fill a Blu-Ray disc with the massive amounts of content that some people keep hoping for and think the 360 is holding back.  The best they will get is less compressed higher resolution cutscenes and a little more detailed textures the latter of which is surpassed by some PC DVD games because of other limitations with current consoles.

I also think Heavenly Sword beats out that 60 AI on screen point in the article.

I just don't like how it makes it seem like Halo Reach is greater than other Hack and Slash titles or Kart Racers, etc...

Halo Reach has a ton of content and will be nothing short of amazing, but those same genres it is trying to make it appear better than can do things that Reach can't even touch, like assassinations while hanging from ledges. Ability to attack the first place guy in a racer when you're in dead last. Ability to use the editing software to create sidescrolling shooters, sidescrolling platformers, racers, etc... with that only being LBP1, Forge can't touch LBP2. Ability to go questing like in an RPG or have control over the storyline.

It instead cherry picked certain aspects and declared Reach as "putting them to shame", which is my gripe with the article.

Could have been just as great of an article if it just went to great lengths to display what it offered compared to other FPS titles, because there is no doubt what so ever that when it comes to shooters on consoles (which is all I really know) Halo is King, just like how for me LittleBigPlanet is my current sidescrolling platforming king.

Content and execution is what makes them Kings. The replayability of these kinds of titles are almost endless. They can last entire generations and beyond.
